Okay, this is a simple post saying should I buy this game? I’m a wrestling fan, and I don’t own a wrestling game at the moment, and I’m getting withdrawal symptoms (so to speak.) Shoudl I get this game for the PS2, or is there another one in the works or an alternative that is better?

Smackdown 5 is in production, but I’m not sure when it’s coming out. I guess you’d account the wait for the UK version too. That said, it’s up to you . . .

THIS GAME OWNS! I totally recommend it if you don’t want to wait. One of the top three English wrestling games out. Not as good as No Mercy or Power Move, but still great. The gameplay is much faster and smoother than the other two, but I always get killed in it (thus detracting from my fun value). It’s a huge improvement over the previous games and is definitely the most realistic game on our markets. The create-a-wrestler is fun, and while not having as many moves as they could, it still has a bunch of cool Japanese manuevers. I love this game to pieces. Story mode is a tad bleh, but the best story mode so far (even though I sorta preferred the seasons of Smackdown 1).

So, if you don’t want to wait, get it! I also recommend No Mercy for the N64, Power Move Wrestling for the Playstation (not sure if it was released in England), and even the old Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium (I think that’s it :p) ROM for the SNES. All classic.
