Do you find that the ability to junction magic to your characters makes you very wary to use it during battles, as their stats are too reliant upon it? Do you find yourself storing a huge amount of magic that you’ll never use just to junction until better magic arrives?

It’s a unique feature to FF8 that has its drawbacks because of this. I was very reluctant to use spells like Ultima and Curaga and Full Life because it would decrease important stats.

Yup, that’s what I feel. I hardly ever use Magic (especially junctioned magic) because it will lower my stats and I’ll have to go and get some more… Luckily, Curaga isn’t a big problem with Wizard Stones (as well as other items that can be refined to Curaga magic). The whole Draw feature wasn’t all that good in my opinion…

I always tend to junction Full Life to HP since that gives tons extra, however in battle (esp harder boss battles)< I will still need to revive fall characters, thus slowly killing the character that has it junctioned x.x

*has that problem as well*
I’m a meltdown caster, but it also depletes vitality ;__;
and ofcourse curaga… I never used it. Only cast draw cause I’m too ‘afraid’to use it, cause it’s destroying my stats ;__; xD

Never really saw the problem with that.

I either avoid using junctioned magic or use it in such small dozes that it’s hardly noticeble. I mean, using 2 Full Life spells isn’t going to send you from 9999 Hp to 5625, right?

Also, who ever said that you HAVE to use 100 Firaga on attack junction? Last time I checked, 100 Fria does just about the same job. Use Friaga for spell casting and Fria for junction.

With proper junction, you’re nearly untouchable anyway, just got a little Protect, Reflect & Shell to cover whatever little buggers might sneak in. Aura + meltdown + haste is also an option, at least then the fight will be over in no time 😀

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I don’t use a lot of magic in battle anyway. :p If something is junctioned, I either look for a replacement for the stat, or don’t use the magic too much. For things like Meltdown and Aura, I’ll cast them even if they are junctioned, but thinking about it I don’t really use very much magic apart from that at all. :erm: Then if I get a bit low on stock, I just draw or refine some more, simple.
