Freya or Beatrix??? Eiko or Garnet???

Pick one of ur favorite characters given here? I mean, IF Beatrix was a playable character, who from the two would you choose? And what about Eiko and Garnet…which White Mage was useful for battle? PICK PICK PICK! ^^ Its a tough decision for me really between Freya and Beatrix (If she was a playable character) because theyre both powerful! And when it comes to the two White Mages….I would say Eiko…her Holy was powerful! ^^

Freya vs. Beatrix – (drools</I>) Oh man, give me Beatrix any time. The absolute epitome of femine hotness in Final Fantasy in my opinion. Have I mentioned that she’s also totally awesome in battle?

Eiko vs. Garnet – This is so easy for me, as I have always considered Garnet a lamer version of Eiko. Eiko’s Trance is double white magic, whereas Garnet gets the lame Eidolon Trance. Eiko is cooler and more amusing to me and you’re right, Holy magic is really good too.

I like Beatrix over Freya. I don’t really like Freya. She’s a cool dragoon and all but I don’t really like her personality and sayings at times… Beatrix is cool… I only wished she was involved with the storyline more…

Eiko is my second favorite character in FFIX next to Vivi. She’s much better than Garnet… Yeah garnet does have a higher magic stat and more eidolons but w/o her eidolons, she can’t do any damage other than her physical attack… Eiko is so much more better… She has the only two Holy attacks in the game (other than Beatrix). Plus Double Holy means 19998 per turn… hehe Although, I wished Eiko could use Scan…

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">White mages were actually needed in FF9 when you have a choice of party members? That’s news to me. :p But if I had to choose between them, I’d take Garnet at any time. Eiko does actually get slightly better white magic in the end, but I just couldn’t stand Eiko at all, she was so annoying that it rubbed off onto me not wanting to ever use her in my party either. Eiko’s Trance is much better than Garnet’s and I already said about Eiko’s magic being slightly better, but I disliked her so much that I refused to use her unless forced.

As for between Freya and Beatrix, they’re both equally good, I think. When you have them together in Alexandria then Beatrix is much stronger, but Freya does get much more powerful later. It’s just the idea that Beatrix is supposed to be the stronger though, so I’d choose her over Freya if I could.

Beatrix because she’s a very good fighter and Eiko because she had better magic than Garnet.

Beatrix was awesome, when I played the game the third time ’round, I used an Action Replay to get her in your party from the get go. (For fun, of course) And she was amazing in battle. If only she had a bigger part to play, the battles you fought against her didn’t show her great power, however the fight with Steiner and her to protect Alexandria was amazing… the tension.

her advanced techs helped me a lot since i was near death with her and steiner was kod without any more phoenix downs…. so yes.. she was a life saver…
freya was kinda odd and i didnt like her techs as well as her jump skill since it took a while to do

i like garnet better than eiko…
why? just because eiko annoyed the shit out of me
plus her holy didnt seem to work for me all the time and i thought that scan was better since it gave me a certain degree of control over the battles.

I would pick Beatrix, because she is a better fighter.

I’d definitely choose Freya over Beatrix for many man reasons o_O. Some of which include .. SHE’S A FREAKIN RATWOMAN… THAT’S COOL! Also, she’s the only reason I beat the game the first time I played it (That’s worth kudos right there) And I think she has better taste than o_O yea…

As for Garnet and Eiko… No contest…

Garnet ticked me off! Eiko all the way :D. Sorry, the whole whimpy "I feel so bad I won’t talk" bit ticked me off o_O it was like… Irvine re-incarnate but in a woman’s body this time.

Freya was a cool character and a constant member of my party. The Reis’ Wind skill was awesome for getting your party to be constantly healed. Her jump attack was great as it stopped her getting injured by the boss you were fighting. And some of the other Dragon skills were also helpful.

Beatrix was better looking though…

Garnet was a damn grand mage. Her Eidolon skill allowed you to get a summon attacking as long as she was in Trance (or had a turn queued up.) That was awesome. Eiko was okay, but I preferred Garnet.

Yush… Freya was kool… although I was ticked that she wasn’t in more FMV’s… I wanted a close up on her rat face. xD;; No really… as much as Freya kicks ass, I have to give my kudos to Beatrix. She’s extremely good in battle, (and btw, Beatrix WAS a playable character. =\ Just not for very long…) I got my ass kicked by her when I fought her in the Iifa Tree…

And as far as Garnet vs. Eiko, DL knows, it’s Eiko all the way!!! =D I mean, Garnet was kool, but Garnet didn’t have kick ass blue hair and wings… and she also didn’t have as cute a pet. I mean, who want’s Zidane when you can have a cutie like Mog!!! And she was better in battle… even though she died quickly sometimes when I had her in my party… her Magic was definately stronger… and not to mention…

Mandatory procedure aside, the whole Beatrix/Freya thing is hard a choice for me. "Personality" wise neither were too strong in my eyes, but both are powerful warriors. Hmm, Beatrix has beauty+bust over Freya. So the winner = Steiner. Kthx.

Hm.. Freya or Beatrix. That’s difficult. Both are really great characters, and I like them both equally. I think in the end I would pick Beatrix, though. Her attack power is much higher, and she’s got nifty abilities. :B

And to be honest, I found both Eiko and Garnet to be quite annoying. Eiko with her whole "I must make Zidane mine" (or something along those lines.. pretty silly. She’s what, 6? 8? Kids that age don’t think about stuff like that.. o_O), and Garnet seemed so.. helpless.
I didn’t really need them in battle either. I only use their cure spells, which can be easily replaced by auto-regen and other characters’ abilities (Quina’s blue magic, Amarant’s chakra, etc).
But if I must pick, it’ll be Garnet. She had tons more Eidolons and her trance was far more useful than Eiko’s.

Hmm… it’s really really really hard to choose between Freya and Beatrix… I loved both of them. Beatrix ran out of MP too fast, though…

As for Garnet and Eiko, EIKO ALL THE WAY EM!!! Double Holy was much more useful than summons coming sometimes. And besides, even with boost, my Dagger’s Bahamut does 5000 something. Eiko’s Holy does 8000 something and costs less MP.:p

Between Beatrix and Freya, I’d Choose beatrix, she beats freya in beuty and in kicking butts, also she’s a holy knight with white magic (I know that Freya is a dragon knight but i could care less:p)….

Between Garnet and Eiko…… In whom I like, I like garnet, but in battle I use Eiko since as agent said, Garnet is a lamer Version of Eiko. Still I like garnet more because I can’t put up with Eiko’s annoying personality:eye: … And Garnet is kinda cute ya know:D…

And I’d pick Dagger. I never liked Eiko, very annoying little girl, and Dagger is just….i dono, better!

Beatrix and Dagger made it further in the rumble than Eiko and Freya :P. I guess I’d pick those two also. No particular main reason.

You people don’t put forth an effort to understand Eiko. At first, I thought she was annoying but then I held an open mind and now she’s my second favorite character. Funny how much trying accomplishes. 😀

OoooOOOOOooooooh Very hard decision. All four are very good characters in their own ways. But, when it comes right down to it, as much as I like Reis’s Wind, I’d have to go with Beatrix over Freya. There’s just no contest. Also, I’ve spent the past couple of hours levelling Freya up and she takes the hits harder than Beatrix and doesn’t build to be strong enough.

Now, as for Dagger and Eiko . . . for DL’s sake I wanna say Eiko but for my own sake I wanna say Dagger. I use them both about equally during the course of the game. The only reason I’d take Eiko into the final battle over Dagger is that the first time I played the game the only reason I survived was by a random act of Phoenix. As far as them as characters I have to say I liked Dagger more. I kinda relate to her and I think I understand her silence, rather than simply being annoyed by it like QC.

I would choose Garnet Til Alexandros over Eiko! She had more powerful Summons!

As for Freya and Beatrix, hmm…. I like ’em both, but I’ll have to go with Beatrix because she would protect Garnet to the end! Beatrix over Freya!

I’d take Beatrix over Freya anyday. Mostly because I feel that despite her not being a main character, Beatrix was given a much bigger development than Freya, that and she was cool…

Garnet is sooo much better to have than Eiko, Eiko’s annoying, brattish, a pain in the proverbial backside. Garnet is much more useful for healing, has beeter Eidolons, and has a better physical attack stat than Eiko (very useful when you combine Garnet with the Tiger Racket).

Oh, I’ve been wondering for ages, if you call Garnet something other than Dagger, when she asks Zidane to give her the "object that helped her make a decision", is that changed, because she’s not called Dagger?

I really doubt it. I guess even if you did call her something else, it was still the knife that helped her make the decision. After all, you could call her "Knife." (Not sure why anyone would want to though.)

And the same is also true with a certain other character who I won’t mention because that’s a major spoiler, but if you’ve played the game before, then you probably know who I’m talking about.

Let’s get back on topic. I really like all four of them, Freya is cool and Eiko is cute!. I just prefer Garnet becuase she’s really sweet and she’s got the best summons. I also prefer Beatrix because she changed her ways and protected Garnet to the end!

Getting off the topic again, for just a second, oh yeah – the Flaming Amarant. All sorts of diabolically fun stuff one could come up with for that one.

I like Freya a lot, but I would have loved it if I could have gotten Beatrix in my party. Just the little taste they gave you was so awesome. ^^ So yeah, Beatrix.

Character wise, I love both Garnet and Eiko for different reasons, but I generally found Garnet to be the more useful whm.

I too wished if you were able to get Beatrix. If you could, she would definetly be in my main party! I liked Freya too because she was wise in many ways. I could tell just by the way she talked. Like you, I like Beatrix better because I think she’s better in combat. I liked her also because she was so kind to my favorite character Garnet.

I like both Eiko and Garnet, but I like Garnet alittle better for some reason. I liked Eiko for her cute personality(of course she was a little girl) and I thought her best summon Maideen was cool. I like Garnet alittle better though because she looks like Tifa and she’s got Bahumut and great White magic skills. I like them both though.

And out of Freya or Beatrix i would have to say…..Beatrix because i never really used Freya in the game she is still on level 21 while the rest is on 70! oh well….

assuming Beatrix was playable i’d choose her, she would probably be my favorite character if i could actually use her… but seen as shes not playable i would have to say Freya, i barely ever used her till i got to the part where the party splits up into 2 groups. she was the only reason i survived that dungeon…

well i hated Eiko, so i would have to say Dagger although she annoyed me at times as well… Worst cast of FF females. Lets get back FF7

hey sry if i’m going slightly offtopic here but something has been bugging me for YEARS about this game. i personally wouldn’t call this a spolier but just to warn you its on disc 4, i dont wanna be moaned at or anything…anyways you can buy a weapon called ‘Save The Queen’ from Hades on disc4, in the guide book (yes i know sad, this was my first rpg), it has a little star by it saying ‘*Save The Queen can only be used by Beatrix’ but you cant get Beatrix -_- and it costs 50,000gil on top of items! ok i just wanna know what the point in this is (if there even is one)

Beatrix vs. Freya? Hard choice, but I’ll go with Freya in battle. Beatrix is strong early on, but train your team up enough and all she’ll have going for her are the sword arts, which all suffer if she’s weakened with mini or something like that. And she’s an MP whore. Freya has Reis Wind and Dragon’s Crest. Character-wise is even tougher, but I’ll still go with Freya. She was my first favorite girl in FF until Celes came along… XD

Eiko vs. Dagger? Another hard choice since I used them both a lot, but I’d definitely go with Dagger by virtue of her being half of Zidane. 😛 I never tend to split them up so since Zid’s in the party all the time, so is Dagger. Therefore, she ends up being as high in levels as he does. Plus since I like using my mages to kill rather than heal, I’d take her summons over Eiko’s any time.

There’s no point to it other than if you want to collect stuff. So I usually just swipe it from Beatrix while she’s on my team and give her a wimpy ol’ broadsword in return. 😉

Beatrix, but i never used Freya when i didn’t need to, so i don’t know what she’s like later on.
Dagger adds some great story to the game, and is better in battle for me. Eiko must be badly injured….<hires an assassin>.

Freya. There is no doubt about it. I’ve never been too fond of Garnet, nor Eiko, and Beatrix is just, blah.

Probably Freya. I found her story a lot more interesting (quite tragic also). Shame she misses out on about one third of the game. Beatrix was alright, but she was always overshadowed by Steiner whenever I got to use her.

I’d also probably pick Garnet over Eiko. I didn’t like her summons as much as Eiko’s but I found her a lot more interesting as a character.

Out of Freya and Beatrix, based on hotness Beatrix, but based on battlestyle Freya. Freyas Dragon Crest just kicks ass, lol at cherry blossoms.

Out of Eiko and Garnet Id pick Garnet, purely because I just did not give Eiko a chance for the same reason I did not give Amarant a chance-they joined the party later in the game. Oh also because while playing FFIX I had the hots for Garnet;-)

Beatrix = Steiner + white magic… a lil imba but her cute, knight style is better than freyas. Garnet = hot, Eiko = dirty lil kid… blee.

I don’t mind if a topic is revived as long as the response is actually on topic, which it was. I also think we can cut this member a little slack, since it’s their first post. I also refer to what’s been said before about letting the mods handle this.

Well since we’re here…
Freya because her magic was better imo, didnt take up as much mp, was strong and eclectic…she could heal and do a good amount of damage. And there were a few times when her jump ability saved at least one character from devestating attacks. There were times thanks to the jump ability that she was the only character left alive and had defeted the enemy on her own.<BR>
Eiko, I liked her waaay better. Daggers whole silence thing and her attacks being sliced in half from that episode was so very annoying to me, would you want a queen that loses her mind in a time of crises? plus I foun Eiko’s magic better and her summons were much better to me, she has just as many as Dagger if you attach certain accessories to her. Madeen I loved and pheonix coming in randomly has saved my ass more than once.

Beatrix cause she was cool, and i always loved climhazzard…

Garnet because I loved her trance of constantly summoning bahumat…

Beatrix was only meant for a few battles (hence only using save the queen and her overpowered magicks)

If the would be Garnet + Beatrix I`d definitely choose that… I`ve never liked Eiko or Freya really.
