PlayStation3 To Be Released in 2003………

Considering just a few weeks ago they said that ‘Cell’ isn’t even finished, I find this very hard to believe. CA said it best:

However, IF they’ve just been lying and Cell IS finished and ready to go, then this will essentially put a few nails in the coffin of X-Box and GC (who dont have plans for any next-gen consoles until at least 2005, giving PS3 a TWO-YEAR headstart).

Now, seeing as how this is being reported by Bloomberg (which is a very reliable and established news service, meaning it might as well have been reported by CNN), its kind of leaning me to believe that it’s true, HOWEVER I’m betting that if it’s released this year, that it won’t be nearly as powerful as they were hyping it to be. Which would suck. Alot.

But hey. We’ll see.

Blegh, why would Sony do something as stupid as this..I mean for God sake, isn’t the PS2 still a bit too new to be comming out with a newer system already?

Hey if it’s significantly more powerful than the other systems out then I’m all for it, as long as it’s priced reasonably considering that most people just bought a PS2 not too long ago.

Gaming technology seems to be advancing so fast that I don’t think it’s unreasonable to release systems just 3 years apart. It’s the gamers, like us, that win, right?

If it comes out this year it would be great but I would be pissed. I haven’t even ad my PS2 for like 6 months I don’t think.

They should be making more games for PS2, not working on a new system.

Let�s see… I have been a PS2-pwner for three intense months now. I don�t have endless amounts of money… there are still a lot of PS1 and PS2 games to play…

Conclusion:
I will skip the PS3 and buy the PS4, which will probably be released in *wild guess* 2005.

I think that was kinda of a wild guess phhfftt. I think it would be reasonable if Sony would test in 2003 and release the PS3 in the mid/late 2004.

nope this is never happenin this year too many qualityy ps2 games in development and online plans still havent happenend in europe, still got a gd few more years to milk the ps2s potential

I’ve barely started with my long term relationship with my ps2 so i won’t be getting a new one for a few more years yet. I agree that it just seems a bit too rushed.

its obviously not true. it’ll be ’04 at the soonest, but most likely in 2005.
