I saw this movie recently and thought it was really good. I probably wouldn’t have had rented this if it weren’t for my younger sister. Has anyone else seen this? Even though it is a children’s movie, it makes me want to see more of Miyazaki’s work. Now I wish I could buy it because I loved it that much. What are your thoughts?

I think Totoro is ok for a kids movie/anime. My sensei showed it to my Japanese class around the beginning of the school year. 😀

I just got done watching it last night and well I was absolutely amazed…again. Miyazaki’s works are always stunning and jaw dropping. Disagree? Watch Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Castle of Coglisristo. (sp?).

I thought this movie would be kinda crappy since I heard it was a children’s movie, but that’s not the case at all. After I saw Totoro the cat bus…DAMN, I almost died laughing…

It truly was a great movie and talk about value…I got my copy for $11.99 for a sealed copy at futureshop…$11.99!!! Canadian funds at that. Most dvd’s I buy are $50.00 and some don’t even compare to My Neighbor Totoro.

I want to buy it either on DVD or VHS. Spirited Away, I want to see that badly….but where I live they aren’t showing it in theaters. I was so mad… Thanks, I’ll have to ask about those movies.

Actually Miyazaki didnt do Grave of the Fireflies. Studio Ghibli did, but he didnt direct/produce it.

And Spirited Away will be out on DVD the 15th of this month. As will Kiki’s Delivary Service and Castle in the Sky (2 other incredible Miyazaki films)

Thanks for shring your bit of wisdom since I always thought he did, but why did you say that exactly?

I would like to see this movie too, as well as Kiki’s Deliversy Service and any other of his films I have not yet seen. His movies are always wonderful.

I saw Kiki’s Delivery Service. It was fairly likeable. Yeah, I’m glad that Spirited Away is on DVD. I plan to buy it soon.
