Just a little research topic..

I wondered whether the HP and MP attained by characters at lv.99 was a constant.

i.e. with stat/health/MP boosting materia taken away – my CLOUD has 9189HP and 880MP at lv.99.

Is this a certainty or does anyone have differing results?

No since this is based on different stats that will affect your HP/MP. If you find more sources you will get different stats everytime you play, though the differences will be small.

Not really related to this thread but has anyone ever used the HP<>MP materia? I was just wondering whether your hp still rises when you level up.

Yes LakeFather, when you Level up when you have the HP/MP Materia equiped, you still get HP/MP elveled up when…leveling up. o.o

Just be cautious whenever you remove HP or MP materia, ’cause then you lose however much boost it gave you, and then you have to use a potion/ether x.x;

Anyway…I always have to use HP and MP materia to get my characters to a perfect 9999 HP/MP…:( …However, I’ve seen my friend with no HP/MP materia equiped, and he’s at level 99 and his HP and MP are at 9999…sooo….use lotsa sources XD

My Cloud is somewhere around 9100Hp and 850MP w/o any Mataria equipped. Dunno the rest and too lazy to look :B (besides, only three on lvl 99 xD)

Anyway, just like Koenma, I always have to use Hp plus and other mataria to make sure that the hp sis at 9999 🙂

do you think that the enigma that was discussed before on this board where power sources can be added even after 255 maybe the reason, myabe adding these extra sources can get your character up to 9999HP??

Sorry i ment the materia that swops your HP and MP around not the materia that boosts your HP/MP. I was just wondering if when the materia is equiped whether your HP still goes up.

Yes your HP still goes up, but only if you improve on MP since they are switched. Your HP becomes MP and when you basically gain HP its translated to MP. It does not stop you from getting HP/MP. All it does is swtich them.

How do you add HP/MP with Source items? There are no HP or MP sources, only sources for the six stats that can go to 255.

Does that mean you can’t go above 999 HP if you have the HP/MP switch materia equipped?

i realise that theres no HP/MP source items….but the fact that you can keep adding them to the character might increase HP/MP…just a suggestion, im sure its possible to get all the characters up to 9999HP without any materia equipped at all

I checked my file and here are my character’s Lv.99 HP and MP:

HP/MP
Cloud: 9,192/870
Barret: 9,727/773
Tifa: 8,823/819
Red XIII: 9,243/839
Cid: 8,949/819
Yuffie: 8,752/812
Cait Sith: 8,936/841
Vincent: 8,523/883

Lv.74 Aeris: 6,159/748
When I was little, I thought that I can save Aeris if I got her to Lv.99. So I was trying to do that but I guess I gave up…
