Greetings.

When playing a game, how much time do you devote to it? Do you spend your time concentrating on one game and one game alone, intent on finishing it, before starting another? Or, do you play one game, til you get bored with it, and start another game, and repeat the process?

In general, for myself, I try my best to stick with one game, finish it, then start another. Although, I admit, I have at times, gotten sick of the game I’m playing and start another.

So…. How much time do YOU devote to playing a game?

Simple answer? Way too much.

It depends on the game.

I was totally addicted to Morrowind throughout last summer. I played it to death, completing it just before I moved back to Uni in September having bought it in July. I used to work, get home, eat dinner, have a bath and then play the game for the rest of the time I was conscious.

Nowadays, I play it when I’m not doing anything else. Uni is taking up a lot of my time, as is my storywriting. I’m currently bouncing between Final Fantasy V, Legaia 2, Tekken 4 and Gran Turismo 3. And Morrowind…

Not as much as I used to, though by some people’s standards, still alot of time.

I spend around 6-7 hours a day on the average RPG, finishing in about 2-3 weeks. I thrive on picking out and completing everything there is to complete in most RPGs, so I’m quite used to having 99:59 or above on the clock.

I’ve never been able to divide time between RPGs. My attention span only allows me to take in one story at a time, and since I rarely venture outside the genre anymore I just stick to one game at a time.

Come to think of it, I need something I can just pick up and play, and not have to read stuff. x,x …

I dont feel like I have the time anymore like I used to during my school days what with the job and all that creamy goodness you call adulthood loomin over my head all the damn time. But hey I still manage to fit in at least 1 hours worth of gaming everyday if I feel like playing a pick up game. Yea but I will say it sucks to play an RPG with that kind of time constraints.

I devote a lot of time to my games I must admit. Well look at my typical gaming day yesterday.

When I got up at 3:00 pm yesterday, I start playing Xenosaga till 7:00 PM. I took a little break to get some food and take a shower.

At 9:00 PM, I went online till 12:30 AM playing Quake mostly.

After that, I went back to Xenosaga with a mean game face on. I played till about 6:00 AM…

That was a very grueling rpg session for me, I need to take it easy today 🙂

And I ALWAYS stick with the game i’m playing, I never drop it even if i dislike it. I hate leaving things unfinished.

I hate it, but for some reason, i’ve built up the habbi of starting a game, getting really for or doing really good, then I just stopped. I mean, I’ve done that with these games:

Final Fantasy 9
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy 7 (replay, but I stopped)
Faxanadu (an NES game)
Darkman (another NES game)
Shenmue (DC Game)

And probably many more I can’t think of. I just stopped playing them all of a sudden. I hate it, but it always happens.

As for the question…yeah, I spend lots of time with my games.

It depends on how much spare time I have but I usually play video games for quite a long time.

When I was in High School, it was maybe 6-7 hours week day and 8-9 during week-end. But now, it’s about 10 hours per week and sometimes less. Right now, i’m boring of gaming and I have better to do than playing video games.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I generally stick to trying to play through just one game at a time. Right now it’s FFX, and I’ve near enough completed it now. I only stop halfway through a game if I’m really bored of it, or there’s just another game I want to play really badly.

As for playing time, I don’t play very often these days. I used to play games all the time, but more recently I’ve only really played for a couple of hours at most…

Video games = very little of my time goes to playing video games except for EverQuest.
Other games = I spend at least one night a week playing D&D, EverQuest d20, Deadlands, or Vampire: The Masquerade. Im addicted to gaming.

It depends on the amount of (home)work I have and how much I have to study. If I get the change I can play 5 hours a day, maybe even more with a short break.

I play one game at the time, especially when I got a new game. I must finish and usually I only buy one game for a certain periode since everything else gets released is crap :E
Once I finished the game and played it several times I go on game hunt and replay old games etc.

Usually I play about 50 games at once and neer stop playing games til I beat them but if its a really good RPG like a Squaresoft RPG than Ill stick with just that until I find everythin in it.

again it depends on the game, if im into it, like kingdom hearts, ill play it obsesivly untill ive mastered it. up to three-four week of 6 hours a night. other than those games i play the older ones i have for three or four hours a night weekly or untill i get bored.

Well usually if its an FF i ONLY play that until i finish it but……with ff2 i cant seem to do this because i keep tryin to get my partys HP up and then dieing withour savin that like an hour out the window:(…but if its ‘sports’ games like racing, football or wrestlingf or something I can play a few of these at the same time becuase they dont require u to take in a story or concentrate too much.

I devote as much time as needed to complete a game, so it can range from 10 hours to 100 hours. I will beat that game though.
