<font color=red face="comic sans ms">That’s a complete matter of opinion. It depends how much you enjoy the game, really. I still haven’t completed it once yet, but I’m almost there. I could probably go through a couple more times after this, although I don’t think I’d want to do all the extra stuff again after this. It depends on when you get bored of it. If it gets to the point where playing the game seems more of a chore than enjoyment, THEN you’ve probably played too much. 😉

Well said Meltigemini

Also… when you dream about it consistently, u’ve probably played it too many times.

i ALWAYS complete a ff game once on my own and play around for a few days. then the guide comes out and i 100% complete the game but usually i don’t make it that far.

ff 7 was different, it was my first rpg and it’s still amazing now! i completed that about 4 times all the way through because i just didn’t get the story fully… nowadays the storylines arn’t a problem so i have don’t have that motivation to play the game through again.

my god that’s a boring message!!

Symbol of a good game: story line is easy to understand yet complex and enjoyable

I usually do like legolas says and play through the game once on my own, although I will peek at a walkthrough or something if I just can’t figure out how to do something. After that, it’s party time. That means basically doing everything, all the subquests and leveling up the characters and stuff. From there, it depends on the game. Final Fantasy VII I’ve beaten or played partially quite a few times, mainly to explore different subquests and do all of the "dates" at the Gold Saucer. For Final Fantasy X, I played the "No Summon, No Sphere Grid, No Summoning" challenge and now I’m working on trying to beat it with the least amount of time on the clock possible. (A quest which I’ve dropped for right now in favor of Final Fantasy IX.) So it just depends. Also, if I haven’t played a game that I liked in a while, I might play it again.
