<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I think it’s supposed to be "Tee-dus" considering it’s pronounced like that in Kingdom Hearts; although it would make more sense to say "tie-dus" because it’s spelt like the word Tide, the first three letters are the same. I always say it Tie-dus, but I don’t think that’s right… Just like I’d never sayd Chocobo as "Choke-oh-boh". :p

It’s supposed to be Tee-dus. Although it really doesn’t matter until they say it in FFX-2 or something… I pronouce it Tie-dus cause it sounds better… But it’s really supposed to be Tee-dus.

Also check this out. FF characters’ names that have a letter (or two) followed by an "i" is usually pronounced like an "e".
Rikku=Ree-koo
Quina= Quee-na
Vivi= vee-vee; see?

I had always pronounced "Tie-dus," not knowing for a while that in Kingdom Hearts it’s pronounced "Tee-dus." I still say it that way in my head, "Tee-dus" just doesn’t work for me.

its meant to be tee-dus because of KH and the guy who does his voice also refers to him as ‘tee-dus’, but i still think that tai-dus sounds better….

I’ve always pronounced it Tai-Das but Tee-dus is the official pronounciation. I’m still calling him Tai-Das though…

What I find interesting is that the game manages to go all the way through without actually ever saying Tidus’ name.

(I’m thinking through it, and I can’t think of one point when someone says Tidus’ name, as you can re-name him, if I remember correctly.)

I always used to call him Tit-us, myself. It was part of an ongoing joke with one of my house mates, who said he looked like a tit with the clothes he weared. Other times, I’ve imagined the silent "e" that should be there. So Tie-dus.

The guy needed to decide whether he wanted to wear shorts or trousers though, rather than having one leg of each…

Rename him after yourself…always nice to be a Hero =)

I always thought Tidus was pronouced Tight-dus but when I heard the person who voiced Tidus said it was pronouced Tee-dus…er that was hard to adjust too…
