Games at LAN parties?

I thought of the idea of this thread since I am currently gathering the answers of gamers at my school.

If you where invited to a massive LAN party, what games would you like to see there?

I voted for Diablo series, Warcraft 3 and my all time favorite unreal Tournament. Especially UT makes it worth to visit LAN parties.

Quake III is an all time classic network game, but I also like Return to Castle Wolfenstein for its diversity. Unreal 2 could also be a possibility now it’s out.

Although I notice how all these games are the same principles of "shoot, shoot, and, um, shoot."

I do play Colin McRae 2 – but that’s limited to eight players, if not less.

It "could" be possible but Unreal 2 doesnt has multiplayer.

Quake III is the best for LAN. So is CounterStrike (or Day of Defeat if you’re sick of CounterStrike, it’s a nice WWII Half-Life mod) and WarCraft III for RTS players.

A good sport game for LAN would be Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit I or II. I’ve seen a lot of gamers playing this game at our last LAN.

Diablo wouldn’t be a good game for LAN because LAN are mostly about competition and well, Diablo isn’t based for competition, more cooperation.

A lil cooperation once in awhile never hurt anyone. 😉 :p

I’m a fan of the Quake games and I just recently got into Diablo II.

I’m also having a huge LAN in april in my town. Probably over 20 people are estimated to come so far.

I’d personally would like to see a lil variety there in games..

There is going to be a LAN on my school somewhere in April.

I am participating and obviously I’ll be playing Unreal Tournament :P.

Maybe some other interesting games for LAN parties:

-Command & Conquer Generals
-Impossible Creatures (it really is fun I suggest you try it)
-Neverwinter Nights (one of my more favorite MMORPGs)
-Red Faction
-Tribes 2 (awesome online teamplay)

If anything else comes up I’ll add them.

NWN isn’t a MMORPG.

I went to a LAN party for some reason my computer wasn’t working with the network so I left.

The games they were playing included:
Counter Strike a bunch of mods…

That’s pretty much it.

I was at an all night lan party at the weekend at some place in newcastle

Mostly i played UT2003, Day of Defeat and Battlefield 1942 where my team won……….a can of red bull each :p

For a LAN party the must have would be Unreal.

I just went to a LAN on the weekend. we played Half-Life and a bunch of mods for it. A few of us played WC3.
