Best Console

Which do you think is the best console ever!!

Well, that’s a toughie. The SNES had a HUGE catalogue of great games, some of which even made it over to the UK. I will never forget the greatness that was Super Mario Kart, a game that was highly, utterly addictive (especially when playing against my sister.) I won’t ever forget Wing Commander, an awe inspiring game that inspired my writing of my Sci-Fi novel. I won’t ever forget Super Mario All-Stars, that not only had my all time favourite NES game Super Mario Bros 3 on it, but held three other games on it as well.

Yeah, I vote SNES. The Playstation was more mainstream, but the SNES had more classic games (games I’d instantly say I’d like to pick up and play again.) So we’ll go with it.

Bahamut ZERO makes a good point, but i have to vote for PS2 because thats what i have now and it plays ps1 games so thats cool with me, mega drive i really liked aswell tho because it had Sonic, YES SONIC remeber him blue spike guy, super fast!!! always remeber that little guy, AND other that that……….gameboy for pokeamon blue and red and stuff

I’m with BZ on this one. I simply loved the SNES. If it weren’t for that I would never have discovered Final Fantasy. I still get it out and play it.

But hey I still love the PS2, and the Gameboy Advance. :p

Ive used my SNES more than anything. Man that system never gets old.

I feel sorry for all you, its simply not possible to know true gaming enjoyment until you have played the all mighty Collecovision, thats right, I said Collecovision. Only once you’ve pissed your pants from the giant green thing in venture, or played the manic depresive smurf game for hours on end can you call yourself a true gamer.

p.s. The above was said with much sarcasm incase you couldn’t tell, but the collecovision is still a great console.

Even tho i love my SNES and dont know what i would ever do without it ……………. i just love my PS2 more :rolleyes: great new games like FFX that i spent hours and hours playing and games like FFX-2 and other good RPGs that are coming out this year ( Dark Cloud 2 this month! =D ) that i will end up spending hours and hours playing…….. And lets not forget games like FF7 FF8 and other good FF’s from the playstation that you can play on your ps2 other good games are chrono cross and metal gear sold i have wasted away many good hours on these games =P

So it was a toss up between good old SNES or newer PS2 but the PS2 gets my vote…. 😀

This is a tough question to answer. If someone asked me that in 99, I would’ve said either the PSX or SNES. Nowadays, I don’t know. I mean, I’ve got the following consoles : NES, SNES, N64, Master System 1, Megadrive 1 (Genesis), Mega CD 2, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSX, PS2 and a Vectrex. All of them are great consoles. But, I’d have to say the BEST would be a draw between my faithful SNES and Saturn (I’d add my Dreamcast, but it’s not working 🙁 ). Why the SNES and Saturn? Well the SNES for a couple of reasons, one it’s so damned sturdy. Mine has fallen off of shelves, tables, ledges everything, even out the window, AND IT STILL WORKS!!!!! HAH! The second reason would be for the great games for it, like : Lost Vikings, FFIV, V, VI, Cybernator, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Magic Sword and Super Mario World just to name a few. The Saturn for some similar reasons, it has some GREAT RPG’s for it, and also the Evangelion games (Although, only Ironmaiden was any good.). Panzer Dragoon series was good as well.

But right now, until I get my Dreamcast repaired, the SNES and Saturn are my favourite consoles. When my Dreamcast is repaired, that’ll be at the top of my favourite list.

SNES gets my vote by far. I’d be nowhere today without the goodness Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Thats a hard one. The NES is a classic that will never die. And if it wasn’t for the PS I would have never fellen for the FF series. But I’ve always had foundest memories with the Sega Genises.

it gotta a be ps2…no other console(to my knowledge)has improved itself this much from its original design…..can u imagine the difference between ps2 games and ps1- think mgs1 to 2,resi1-veronica(gamecube’s zero looks good), GTA1-VICE CITY,gran turizimo 1-3 wowowowowowo!

PS2 cause you can play the Final Fantasy series on it.

xbox is the best because it has xbox live!! you can even download stuff such as extra levels, charecters etc straight to the hard drive. It will have loads of great games that are xbox live enabled soon and their all much better graphics than anything the ps2 can do :lol

the toughest console is the N64
i saw a test where a car runs over it and it doesn’t had a scratch
if you count a pc as a console i would say that but else i think
PS 2 cus you can play the ff-series on it and a lot of other cool games

Hmmm. . .if they could get the PS2 to play SNES games, that would be the ultimate console!! Since they can’t (yet), I just don’t know.

SNES had tons of good games, but PS2 can play PS and PS2 games. I don’t know, I just can’t decide.

Therefore, I am on the fence and won’t vote. However, I will say this. Val-Valour, I hope you’re being sarcastic when you say:

I aid ps2 cos it has a lot of good game and is back wqards compatible with psone, it had a lotta quality games too:cool:
