Um, except that Laguna did marry. Or is the plaque on Raine’s grave that says "Raine Loire" just for decoration?

Yeah, I’m not sure either. I’m actually not too sure about that whole scene. Was it really just before she died that he asked her to marry him? All we see is that we get swept back in time and he slips the ring onto her finger and then reveals that he’s wearing one too. But it’s kind of hard to tell exactly when it happened, other than it was on a beautiful, moonlit night. So I guess it’s possible that they could have had Squall before they got married, but then again, maybe not. I guess it depends on whether you believe they would "make whoopie" before getting married.

Well it did say Raine had a child before she died. I guess that’s obviously Squall, because Laguna wasn’t there, Ellone was with Laguna and Raine was dead, so Squall had to go to the orphanage.

they never said that raine died in child birth did they? and what does mong-molf mean? It says it under her name on her grave.

It does say that Raine dies at child birth and presuming and that it fits perfectly in the story line that child was Squall.
But I don’t get why, his surname is Leonhart, I’m not saying it should be Loire as, nobody would know who the father is. And I don’t think Squall got adopted, so where did Leonhart come from, unless he gave it to himself?

he probly just made it up. They dont really ever mention his last name anyways, maybe the writers just felt like smacking something on to his name so it would look more interesting in the little guide booklet thingy O_o. Oh and NOFX kicks the monkey in the ass!
