Great Lines From Final Fantasy X

As they say, one of the great things about Final Fantasy is the awesome dialogue. You know how it works, post what you think are some of the best or most important lines from Final Fantasy X. Here are some of my favorites.

Wakka: (if Lulu casts Water on the Water Flan in her tutorial battle) Hey! Why are you healing that thing?!
Lulu: This is an example of what can happen if you pick the wrong element.

Wakka: (to Tidus) Yeah, yeah! She’ll tell us when she’s ready, so hold your chocobos till then, ya?

Rikku: What would you do without me?!

Tidus: (one time only, in a random battle against a Zu) How can a bird grow so big?!

Mika: Clad in it, Yu Yevon is invincible. And the only thing that could have pierced that armor, you have destroyed! Nothing can stop it now.
Wakka: Disappear on us, will ya? Rotten son of a shoopuf!

Rikku: (one time only, in a battle against Ne’Slug in the Monster Arena) Lets go, escargot!

Seymour: Since you were gracious enough to dispose of Yunalesca… the only means of destroying Sin is forever gone. Now nothing can stop us!
Tidus: Well, we can.
Seymour: (completely maniacal now) By all means, try!

Jecht: You’ve grown tall, but you’re all bones.
Tidus: Yeah, but you’re still bigger.
Jecht: Well, I am Sin, you know.
Tidus: That’s not funny.

Edited to add:

Seymour: (if Yuna summons Anima when fighting his final form) You would oppose me too? So be it!

Also edited to fix Rikku’s line, which is "Let’s go, escargot," not "Time to go, escargot."

My favourite lines were
once a battle against Garuda
Tidus: Yuna, summon!
Lulu: Who do you think you are?!

Shoopuf owner(when he asks if ur ready): Ride ze shoopuf?Shoopuf’s waiting!( in a funny voice)

The funniest line was after that temple guy said Tidus coulkdnt enter cloisters Tidus ssaid

Tidus: Like I care!

"Say, is that edible?" Rikku during a battle against a Dark Flan (or the big flan thing in Zanarkand).

And the thousands of "tired" messages… I forgot hwo they go but they’re like "How many more do we have to go through?" and stuff… They’re funny…

I agree, one of the funniest lines is: "Is that edible?"

I wish I could say yes and get a trigger command: eat, because they’re SOOO annoying. Its ironic too… cause flan is edible…. ah nevermind.

Wakka when he first sees a behemoth: "How many Steaks can we make from that?"

(or sommthing to that effect)…..

I think it’s: "How many steaks do you think we can get out of one of those, ya’?"

Anyways, here’s a couple more I forgot about that I like:

Seymour: Then pretend you didn’t see it.
Wakka: That’s not something a maester should say.
Seymour: Then pretend I didn’t say it.

Pacce: All of Bevelle’s been in mourning since Maester Mika died. And it’s been morning for days!

Tidus: "Fight fight fight."

lulu castining threaten u move u die
rikku fighting cactur oh needles i hate neddles
rikku overdrive i warend ya
me:i hate wakka and his sayings

Tromell Guado: Come to kill the old man? I welcome it. Or have you come to laugh? Laugh at the fallen Guado.
(Me: You, you, you. It always has to be about you. When are you going to learn it’s not just about you?)

Wakka: "Oh Great, Now we’re going to fight, Lady Yunalesca"

That was great quote, really Wakka.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">There’s a kid in Kilika who says "I wanna be a Blitzball when I grow up!". I think they missed a "player" out of there somewhere. 😉

I also liked in the Kilika forest, Wakka says that Tidus is a newbie against fiends. Then if you switch Tidus out of the party and back in, he says "Newbie here!", and Wakka replies with "So-rry!".

Ok not that funny, but I remember that anyway. 😉

Personally i think one of the best lines is said by auron… it goes a little like this…

"Now is your time to choose. Choose to die and be free of pain or choose to live and fight your sorrow!!!"

its not funny or anything but i think its soooooo kewl.

or one by tidus when he uses provoke sometimes he says

"Hey you! Take me on."

My favorite is when seymour are in the seymour flux form he say
(Pitiful mortal,your hope end here and your meaningless life with it)

It is so cool;)

Yuna: Just, one more thing. The people and the friends that we have lost, or the dreams that have faded… Never forget them.

Yuna: Next, try laughing out loud!
Tidus: What?
Yuna: Come on, show me!
Tidus: Ah… ha ha ha! Ah… ha ha ha!
Yuna: You probably shouldn’t laugh any more.

Heres a classic

Jecht: I’m the best!

Tidus: The best? Yeah, right.
Wakka: Whoa! What do you call that move?
Tidus: Has no name. Anybody can do it if they try.

in luca after you defeated that machina
lulu goes to yuna ands says " i hope you hurt them "
and then yuna says " a little "

i would say that one of the funniest one’s i remember was when wakka’s like " what are we gunna do?" and then his team replys " TRY OUR BEST!".

i just though it was funny because you would expect them to say something lke kick but or win or something, but try our best, it’s just so original, and since they sucked in past years, it’s kind of true

I like the lines from Yuna and Tidus about the whistling…I think their lines went like:
"Hey use that if we get separated. I’ll come running, okay?" ~ Tidus

"If we get separated just whistle. I’ll come running. I promise." ~ Yuna

Kimahri’s famous line: "Pick spot. Shut up. Wait." It’s one of my favorites.

And the part when Tidus first hears about a shoopuf:
"Shoopuf? That some kind of boat?" XD

I can’t remember where and when exactly that Seymour said this line, but it went like this:
"Protect the summoner even at the cost of one’s life. The Code of the Guardian."

LOL. I missed that one. When does he say that? I’d like to hear that for myself.

I can’t remember where and when exactly that Seymour said this line, but it went like this:
"Protect the summoner even at the cost of one’s life. The Code of the Guardian."
He says that right before the first fight against him, in Macalania Temple.

I luv the Quote from seymour saying:

"Life is but a passing dream, but the death that follows is eternal."

and the one between him and i think it was tidus:

Tidus:"I knew you were bad news the first time we met!"

Seymour: Oh. My sincerest apologies."

You have to say.. seymmour makes sarcasm a hell of a lot of fun. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Theres Lots of lines I Loved too, But heres a Few to Get Started:

Some Ones From the Yunalesca Battle:

"I Cant Believe were fighting Lady yunalesca. Gimme a Break"-Wakka

"Will Humanity ever Attain Such Purity?"-Yunalesca
"Poor Thing. To Throw away Hope and Destroy Yourselves" (Or Something)-Yunalesca
"Now Choose. Who Will be your Fayth?"-Yunalesca

Last thing Yuna said to Tidus: "Arigato." (Yuna’s Japanese voice is so much better. Arigato means "Thank you" by the way)

In the English dubbed they changed it to "I love you"

It’s not really a quote but I like it in the begining when Auron first hands Tidus his blade from Jecht and Tidus stumbles because of the weight and falls backwards. When I first saw that I thought:"I’m in trouble"

I just realized something. Did they ever ask Tidus his name? Did he ever tell them his name?

That’s my favorite line in the game… "I love you" It’s so romantic. They didn’t ask him his name nor did they ever say it because you got to choose what it would be.

they never mention tidus by name as you get to choose it at the start. Even in x-2 he is never named and in many press releases he is referred to as "the young blitzball player".

My favourite line would be in Guadosalam where you have the option of telling Lulu that you’d prefer her to Yuna.

I think Lulu’s response is:

"Interesting…I suppose I can add you to my list. Good luck."

And also the Crusaders in Kilika Forest..(Luzzu and Gatta)

"Discretion is the better part of valour."

i have a few. This one is in Luca, when Tidus grabbed a megaphone and climbed on top of a box.

Tidus: "Stop right there Goers!" "You guys are smiling now, but not for long!" "Cause this year, us Aurochs are taking the cup!"

Auron to Tidus: "Sin is Jecht."

Yunalesca: "If I die, so does the final aeon." "And with it, Spira’s only hope."

when everyone was onboard the ship in the beginning of the game, and if you go down to the basement room, theres a bunch of chocobos running in these wheel things. theres a lady next to them and if you talk to her she starts singing. i thought that was funny.

oh yea, and "Well, helly doo sad wee to you, too!" -Tidus

One that made me laugh was just before you fight Evrae and you have a look at Rin’s shop on the Airship. When you exit the menu…

Wakka: We gotta pay!!?? Hey if we die out there…. (and more)

Rin: I have faith in your victory

It’s not part of the game script or mandatory. You have to have a look at Rin’s stock before you fight Evrae. He’s standing just beside the lift to the deck.

You probably didn’t miss him, just didn’t bother talking to him. I didn’t on my first go.

I liked the part, when Yuna made fun of Wakka. 🙂

Yuna: Oh, there�re a lot of fiends out there, ya?
(says that with a darker voice)

Lulu: Stop talking like that.

Tidus: Heh, heh, heh, you’re giving me the creeps.

here is something rikku says in the tunder plains

rikku:"I wanna go home!"

"Let’s go rest over there! Please?"

Kimahri says his famous line in Djose temple

one of the coolest lines by tidus is right after you beat the santuary keeper on mt. gagazet

Tidus: My thoughts kept floating up. Floating up and slipping through my fingers. Before I could tie them down to words.

It was something like that. I just thought it was cool.

when Rikku was begging Auron and the others to stop at the travel agency in the Tunder Plains
Auron: "Fine, we stop. She’s worse than the storm."

I love it.

Yeah, in the German version of the game, they speak English, but there are German subtitles, and they translated the German from the Japanese version!

So this means, they say ‘I love you’, but the subtitle says ‘Thank you’….. :laugh:

It is funny, because sometimes, it doesn’t really mean the same….

But in this part, they probably changed it into ‘ I love you’, because it sounds more romantic. 😉
