Is there a way of playing FF11 for free cos I’m planning on getting every FF game but you have to pay loads to play this. But I’m glad that I have heard FF12 will be on the PS2. Any of you guys actually got FF11 and how much is it exactly?

I thought that Square had decided not to charge a monthly fee to play FF11. I know I read that, but it could have been changed since then.

Thats what I thought but I was hoping of a way of playing for free.

I honestly wouldn’t expect them to drop fees completely, because they need pay people who keep the servers up and the people who watch you in the game as well….but they might cut the price eventually.

How much is it at the moment?

The American equivalent of what the Japanese players are paying would be about $9.50…as far as the standard monthly fee…

Isnt it kinda stupid to put a monthly fee on something thats probobly directed towards kids? If you were to pay for this monthly fee it would probobly be through credit cards, and I know that most kids my age dont have a credit card and I dont think that their parents are willing to have 9.50 (I think thats right.) on an online game charged to their bill. And I seriously doubt that you can pay for this thing through money orders or anything like that.

I have a credit card but It’s a special one so I wouldn’t know if I could pay over the internet sort of thing.

Billing works by the company automatically billng your credit card, that way the get their money right then, you just have to make sure to pay you credit card company, that’s why they use them for billing….it has it’s ups and downs…..the E-cash or whatever is supposed to be for people that don’t have credit cards…..I guess it works by having an account, you put money in it and they deduct money every month…..that’s what I’d think….

dont forget the registration fees
o and if u want it 4 the ps2….. u have to buy the usb network thing to get it hooked up to ur comp
square did decide not to charge monthly fees but then they started it up again in place of having u store all ur information on a hard drive that is extremely expensive…..
theyre comin out with a pc version and a booth for arcades
u still have to pay registration and monthly fees

I have heard that you can play through FFXI in singleplayer mode, but it is almost impossible to complete.

Theres also a rumor that you can play it with a friend by linking two PS2’s.

I seriously think you will have to pay a monthly fee. its a MMORPG so its like Everquest in which you will have to pay to keep the servers up. MMORPGs makes tons of money and have tons of suscribers so I think this game might do well especially with a FF name on it.
