I ran across this ‘article’ at one of my other forums (Anime Academy), and my fury knew no bounds. 😡
This woman obviously has no concept of anime.
So many mistakes…so many misconceptions…so many fallacies…. :notgood:

Aahhh.. I did not read all of it, but I get the impression that the author wanted to interprete everything she could think of into the actually easy question, Why do people watch anime and manga?

Yes, here she refers to that Japan has had some Hollywood influences… I find it ridiculous. Hey, I love anime/manga, too, and that reason hardly applies to Germany which has no movie industry…

Ehh… does the author anywhere mention that anime and manga are entertaining? I am not reading all of this…

BUT.
You should be glad that some author gives such explanations for why Americans like anime/manga.
I have had a few bad experiences with the media and their ideas on why I read mangas… In fact, a few months ago a German magazine came up with the bright idea that manga appeal to girls because these girls are crazy about sex, because as everybody knows, all manga are full of sex and erotic, the two examples the authors gave were Dragonball and Sailor Moon, thus telling a lot about their journalistic methods.
THAT was a scandal. This here is more… funny.

Well, I would be glad, if she wasn’t so wrong so often. Still, I suppose that it’s better than being a publicly declared hentai. Some people are so stupid…..
