I assume most of you know about the famous Japanese manga anthology Shonen Jump. Some time ago it was announced that there will be an American magazine with the same name, featuring some of the popular series… Well, since I havent heard anyone of you talking about it, I thnk I might just tell you.

http://www.shonenjump.com
" […] Now, Viz Comics is proud to announce the November 2002 American launch of Shonen Jump, featuring the most popular comics from the original Japanese edition. Each issue of Shonen Jump is 256 or more pages for just $4.95. Plus, the comics in Shonen Jump are printed in the right-to-left Japanese-reading format to preserve the original artwork–but with English sound effects to make them as easy to read in America as they were in Japan. Produced with the cooperation of the original artists and editors, Shonen Jump is the new language of comics."

Some of the series mentioned on the website might sound familiar to (some of) you:
Dragonball Z (no comment), Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu yu Hakusho, Sand Land (thats Toriyama, you know…), One Piece… and then two of my all time favourites: Shaman King and Naruto… 🙂

I’m going to get Shonen Jump for mostly the Yu Gi Oh Manga since that is how Yu Gi Oh started off… a Manga (1996) which became a Card game which became a shitty Anime (2000) that is still going on.

Ah well….

Wow, someone answered! I love you, MogKnight!!!

Anyway… although I do not understand whats so amazing about Yu-Gi-Oh… I am glad to know that at least someone here will not miss the great chance of getting some of the best shonen manga out there.

(And do not underestimate Naruto. The anime next month will certainly bust its popularity some more… but itll surely become one bog hit!)

😀
