Is Red XIII a Dog or a Cat?

I know this has been done before but it was never resolved.

Personally, I think that he is a dog, he just seems so dog like, I can’t remember the exact attributes, because its so early in the morning, but I do remember….. he howls.

I suppose…..perhaps….he’s Part-Dog, Part-Cat and Part-Man (The reason for Part-man, well he speaks doesn’t he)

But, I will always name Red after my dog Harry.

i remember when this was last done, i called him a donkey. pfff. why i dont know.

i always assumed he was a dog-type species. i agree with Nymph when she says he’s a new species, but i reckon he is more related to dogs than cats. when you kick the football at him in Costa Del Sol, he barks at you…ever heard a cat bark???

neither ….. Redxiii is an alien creature …… he can not be classified as cat or dog ….. eventhough i think he’s a wolf :rolleyes:

he’s neither a cat or a dog, he’s an imaginnary specie invented for FFVII but I always thought of him as a lion who could bark … :p

I believe he is a part-antilope part-wilderbeast…:P

He’s a dog. I was really surprised the first time I heard someone call him a cat. I don’t know how anyone could think he’s not a dog.

Well he’s neither god or cat, but the howling thingie makes you think it is a wolf but to me he looks more like a lion.

So tehre we see the proof that he isn’t a cat or a dog, he is a compeltely new species just for FF7. 😀 Although if you do want to compare him to a real animal, he’s definately more like a dog than a cat, although I agree that he’s probably more like a wolf.

But really, he’s neither. 😉

Lesse. Red XIII has a fire tail…he’s orange…and he howls. He has whiskers, he can speak English and he attacks with a comb. STRANGE o_O.

I think he’s a cross between:
Spyro (fire tail XD)
A tiger
A wolf
An alien
A girl who likes combing her hair

Well….hes neither…But he’s more a dog then cat….He looks nothing like a cat…and he howls.

I know where his fire tail came from!

A firebug witch got mad at him for combing the tangles out of her hair so she took her lighter and set his tail on fire, then put a curse on it so it wouldn’t go away.

If there is anything that proves what I said is fase, it shall for ever be a plot-hole.

And I think he’s definitely Canine in origin.

in the ff7 manual…. it specifically says that reds tail is fiery because of the color
not because its on fire

maybe he was just making a joke cloudago? :eye:
Anyway, Red looks more like a cat for me o.o or just a hybrid cat dog lion! XD

well, Fujin wipes the floor with everyone now. he’s blatantly more canine than feline. he’s a fictional breed of dog.

theres references to red xiii being both cat and dog in the game by various secondary characters though!!!

so maybe they know people are gonna ask this question?

Cait Sith is somtimes referred to as a cat, since there is a cat on top of the moogle. But I can’t remember specifically Red ever being referred to as a cat.

Hmmm. . .maybe he is a lion. He said that he was the last of his kind, and you see plenty of cats and dogs throughout the game. I don’t think that you ever see a lion. Apparently, there are no zoos in the whole world.

He isnt even real so he isnt a dog. But he most closely resembles a dog. At first i thought cat, but then i thought more deeply and he resembles a wolf which is in close relation to a dog. He barks too. People can argue he is a cat because he also looks like a tiger or lion, big cat, look at his paws and the way he stands, his main-esq face also resembles one, so its very hard, hes sorta a cross between (resembeling) them

I think he’s a lion, which is a large cat, because his tail is of a lions and the main looks like a cat. Hey, what if he was a half wolf and half lion, which would be half cat and half dog, like the show CatDog:laugh: :laugh:!
