What’s the relation between Odin and Gilgamesh???

What is Odin??? Why was Gilgamesh appear after Odin’sdeath???

*SPOILER, somewhat*

Odin is a GF. He’s a guy from norse Mythology if you want to know his ‘true’ origin.
Gilgamesh is from another FF game, although I forgot from which one and basically he was trapped into some alternate dimension during the game.
and with Seifer killing him as the hero he is o.o it triggered opening a dimensional portal from which Giglamesh could be set free, and he shows his thanks by replacing Odin, not only with ‘Zantetsuken’ but also with 3 other swords 😀

Gilgamesh is from FF5. He got thrown into the Cleft of Dimension by Exdeath, but now he’s back in FF8.

They’re both gods from mythology, Square’s imagination for names doesn’t really live up to its name. Thats the only relationship. But yeah about the dimension, thats correct.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Yeah, Gilgamesh comes back from FF5 in FF8. He chooses to appear after Seifer kills Odin, as he now has the fourth sword that he has been looking for.

Excalipoor was his original weapon.
Excalibur is from FF6.
Masamune is Sephiroth’s weapon from FF7,
And Zantetsuken is Odin’s sword in FF8.

Now that he had the fourth sword, he could come back from the dimensional rift. He attacked Seifer because he was the one who gave him the fourth sword, and so wanted to see if he was a worthy opponent. Or something. 😉

yeah i read somewhere, that gilgeshmesh, from a previous ff, got trapped in some dimension, because he used "excalipoor" a very weak sword o_O

Some friends of mine told me this story:" Because Gilgamesh was beaten by Odin. Then Odin stole gilgamesh’s ‘Zantetsuken’ sword and imprisoned him in a mysterious dimension…after Seifer slashed Odin into 2 pieces, Gilgamesh appeared and retook "Zantetsuken" then knocked Seifer down"…^_^
