does any one knows when the sandstorm in Sanubia desserd
stops ?
I think that you can fight some nice cactuars there!!!
They give good AP and Money …
I hope you can Fight Jumbo Cactuar !

I think it will stop if you have finished the "Cactuar’s village" side-quest.

Sorry but What is the’ cactuar’s village side quest ?’

Hmmm…I wonder how to explain it.

This is a side-quest where you have to find ten cactuars on the Bikanel Island. You can activated the side-quest by getting airship first and touch a rock with a picture of a cactuar on it (You can find it in Sanubia Desert – West, a place where you can see the sandstorm )

I think there is 10 different cactaurs in the deserts, different areas and once u kill them all then the sandstorm disappears and you can enter the village

All that’s in the sandstorm area is Rikku’s sigil.. and a few other items. The enemies you fight in there aren’t different… which sucks. x_X

Its worth a try !

You will be given clues as to where that cactuars are located on the cactuar stone. Then, you will have to go find them all. They will challenge you to a game of "Red Light, Green Light" and you must get to them before time runs out. If you do not, then you will not get the cactuar stone with their names on them.

You see, you catch them and then you fight them. Once you defeat them, each one gives you a stone with the name of that cactuar on it. I think the maximum amount of cactuars you can miss is two, so you must defeat about eight or nine of them.

Once you beat the first one, you have to go back, put the stone with the name on it on the cactuar stone. Once you do this, you can go beat the next one.

Once you defeat all of them and get the stones, then you can go into the village.

Actually, you need to get eight or nine stones with names on them in order to get a Friend Sphere.

I went and did this quest last night.
There is only 2 treasure chests in the Sandstorm area.
1 is worth is, It is the mercury sigil for Rikku’s Legendary Weapon, Godhand. The other treasure chest in there is only a friend sphere…..It is definately worth the work though. It only took me an hour and a half or so…. Each of the cactuars you face, you only get 3 trys at the red light green light game…..make sure you save between them, you fight them all except the airship one.

1st Cactuar = at the oasis, once u warp there.
2nd Cactaur = 2nd screen, up and to the left near the chest.
3rd Cactuar = In the sign that says 20% off merchandise (Chavo likes numbers)
4th+5th Cactuar = In screen with buildings buried in sand
6th Cactuar = In a Save Point , i dont think it matters which of the 3 you choose.
7th = In a sand pit near the cactuar stone
8th = Back to the Oasis, cactuar transports himself onto the airship, go to top of deck, reach him in red light, green light, u get the stone….you dont fight this cactaur
9th = In a treasure chest in the huge area, to the left.
10th = sneaks up behind u once u enter the 9th stone into the cactaur stone

It’s the same monsters inside as out. There is a Cactuar King/Jumbo Cactuar in the Area Conquest section of the Monster Arena.

It’s really not ‘jumbo’, just a little tougher and harder to hit, same look, but yeah…. :uh?:

i can’t seem to find the 7th one, i know its in one of the sand whirlpools, but which one.

Am I just weird or did anyone else find that mini-game disturbing? They tell you all about the cute little cactuars and then you kill them. :eye:

Yeah the Cactuars are cool !

but the game isn’t so bad…

The 7th caqtuar is on the same screen as the stone u get hints from, u should see it run into the pit from a distance

none of them have anything to do with a cactaur in it!!!
and ive searched all over!!!

well i didnt notice it right away , i had no encounters on (aurons peace bracer) and i searched the whole area, went back checked the stone, and then walked towards the pits again and i saw it run into a pit, then u do the red light green light and fight…

this one took me a bit longer than the others b/c it didnt appear right away.

umm dowes it matter that i already got all of the chests?

nope it doesnt matter that u got the chests or not, but it should be in i believe the middle pit, (there is 3 i believe , besides the one that the 2 al-bhed are sitting in)to the right, where u can see the sandstorm, and it runs into the pit, i didnt see it right away though, i had to search the whole area before i noticed this one run into the pit
