Rinoa, Selphie or Quistis?

Which of the three gals is your favorite from FF8?

I, personally, think all three are great. But my vote’s going towards Rinoa. She’s just a really beautiful, sweet person with a caring heart. And breaking through Squall’s little barrier was also a plus with me (he’s such a hunk)! So who’s yours?

Hmmmmm…….well, Selphie looks like a man, Quistis is Very dramatic, and Rinoa isn’t independant at all…. If I had to pick then Rinoa. Rinoa is a hot thing! But she needs Xtra schooling, but otherwise she is cool.

In battle I would prefer to use Selphie out of those three because of her limit breaks (Full-Cure, The End, etc), however normally she gets quite annoying. Rinoa also has some good limit breaks (although Angelo Cannon sickens me, look at where her face is wehen she uses that attack… :uh?: ) and is nice, and I think the sort of person needed to help change Squall. Quistis was a good leader and instructor, and also had some good limit breaks. I’d say Quistis was my favourite out of battle, and Selphie was most useful in battle though. 🙂

Personally, I thought Quistis was a great character. She cared about everyone, had some pretty snappy remarks ("As an expert Squall observer I’d say he’s thinking: "What do we do now? blah blah blah…"), and she was really sophisticated. No offense to Selphie-suppoters, but Quissy and Irvine could of made a cute couple.

Quititis. She’s smart, sexy, strong, good personality, and she is hot .

My favorite is Rinoa. She is really pretty and full of fire. My second choice is Selphie, because she is cute.

I would definately vote Rinoa. She’s kind, happy, energetic, cute, and determined. Kinda like somebody I know… *embarressed cough* So, uh, yeah Rinoa is the best out of those three, if not the best out of the whole FF series.

I like Rinoa the best, because she was willing to kill herself to save the world from being destroyed. She is really the only character that you got to know closely, then turned evil, so it kinda makes you sad and regretful. I think she had the biggest challenges to overcome and the most exhilarating story of any female character in the series, and that’s why I voted her.

BTW, do you think you registered enough times, FD? There’s like eight different versions of your name down on the birthday list!

They’re all great but Rinoa was really determined to get Squall to open up which was cool. All three are pretty I think. Selphie would make a great friend I think I’d probably laugh all the time from her tendancy to be hyperactive…I found it hilarious when she went back into the engineering room at the missle base and beat up the two soldiers. As for Quistis, she’d probably be the best for a heart to heart conversation, however someone had to be at the bottom of the list so I chose by which made me respond the most.

As you can see by my user name Rinoa Heartilly is my fav character in FF8 so I voted for her. Not only is she like me and I would look like her slightly if I was Asian but she’s got a ruley personality. GO her!! ^______^

I go Selphie. She’s cute and makes me laugh. Quistis really doesn’t do much for me, Rinoa… just no.

Well, Selphie has a flail, and that’s like a whip, but I still go with Quistis. She is the intullectual of the three and I love smart women. Plus, she’s much more realistic.

I agree that all three characters are great and all of them have the potential to be my fav. In fact, every one was my fav. in one point or another. But now I’m sticking with Quistis. She is definitely the best looking, with an intriguing weapon and awesome offensive and defensive limit breaks. Plus she’s an overall good character to have in your party, espeically when she picks on Zell! *is recalling a certain Winhill incident*

I also go with Quistis. Her whip can whip anything in shape.
She’s also the smarter of the two and is not annoying like Rinoa or Selphie….well…its not like they are annoying but sometimes they just do get annoying…..:erm:

Quistis is second. Her whip is intriguing, although I refuse to believe that whips like the ones she uses damage enemies as much as they are capable of.

I voted for Selphie. She was my favorite character from the get-go. While a lot of people wrote her off as an airhead because she was overly cheerful, I kind of found her optimism to be a refreshing change from the usual brooding whiny character. Even when times were bleak, she found the determination to keep going. In Trabia Garden, she was very helpful and uplifting to people, even though in all likeliness, she was upset by the whole thing. Also, she seemed to have a dark side that went completely unexplored. She was all too happy to blow up stuff, as a little girl she enjoyed playing "WAR!!!", and she wouldn’t let you look at her old Trabia Garden profile and get a peek at her past. Not to mention, she was really cute and sassy.

No offense to Selphie-suppoters, but Quissy and Irvine could <S>of have made a cute couple.I take no offense to this. I think that Irvine was a horrible match for Selphie. She could have done better with someone like Zell. I don’t think Rinoa and Squall were very well matched at all, either.

I have to say Quistis. She’s just hard not to respect, and when I first played I truthfully thought her and Squall would end up together until I got more into the game. She started my writing habit, I used her in my first fanfic. Thats an extra bonus point. Ranoa’s too flighty. I do like her though.

Before I didn’t understand why there were so many Quistis fans, but I’ve grown to like her a lot. She’s a good friend to Squall, she knows him well, too. Quistis is very deep, and in my opinion, very strong. It takes a lot to let a loved one go, and she did it very generously. She didn’t try to interfere with Squall and Rinoa, even though she had feelings for him.

So, now I really can’t choose which character I like best, they’re all great. 😉

Quistis is indeed a strong person. I really didnt like her at the start of the game because she was bossy and she was kinda mean to Rinoa. But good thing at the middle part of the game, she realized that she shouldnt act that way cos what she really felt for Squall is a love for a brother. And she humbly apologized to Rinoa for what she’s done, and i really admired her for that. All of them are great characters and are different from each other i think. each has a certain trait that the others dont have, that’s why they’re all unique. Rinoa may be my favorite but i also like Selphie and Quistis.

Like many other people, I like all three, although Selphie can be a bit annoying at times. But my big vote would have to be Quistis. I liked her from the very start. Maybe it’s because FFVIII was my very first FF game and she was the first of the girls to make an appearance, but I’ll always have a bit of a soft spot for Quistis. I also think she’s the most grown up of the characters – in this game and all the other FF games I’ve played. In FFX we see the direct counterparts of all three girls. Yuna is Rinoa, Lulu is Quistis and Selphie is Rikku. Oddly enough, I always liked Rikku best in FFX – maybe because Yuna was so wet and indecisive and Lulu was just a bit too S&M with all the black and the belts and buckles, so I found myself drawn to Rikku’s child-like wonder of Spira (something I think I shared with her). I still have a lot of affection for FFVIII as it was my first FF game and it was the first one I completed. Although a friend bought me a little figure of Rinoa I love the figure I have of Quistis and she’s Blu-Taked to the top of my PC monitor, whip at the ready.

You know the concert made me look at both Quistis and Selphie in very different lights. They both have musical apptitude for 7 instruments and one form of dance. A very attractive quality in a women. Where as all Rinoa did was put on a slutty short dress and try and seduce Squall and that went very badly.

Rinoa seems to me like the kind of girl who thought she had a very good relationship with a guy who was using her for sex one time. After that time, he dumped her. Rinoa tried to get back at him by quickly finding someone else for two reasons:
1. to justify herself and make her feel like a needed and wanted person, and
2. to make her first boyfriend think that she doesn’t need him, when in actuality, all she wants is to be back with him.
Think about it: why did she get hooked on Squall so quickly, and be so persistent?

In my opinion, Selphie is the only good choice: innocent, childish, hasn’t quite matured to be making decisions concerning her sexuality, although she obviously digs dudes, just not sexually.

Because she is the only one of the three that is actually capable of acting like an adult. Rinoa is a typical spoiled teenager, while Selphie is a typical ditzy teenager.

Quistis does have her issues, but at least she manages to handle them to some degree, and unlike Selphie (and the rest of the team, for that matter), she is somewhat believable as an elite mercenary.

Final Fantasy XIII has some hot chicks that don’t exactly fit the mold. But none of them get the guy. But, there’s always Final Fantasy XIII-2…

Yeah, the romance element of Final Fantasy VIII is what makes it the best game for me. It made the whole game to much more engaging and interesting. Final Fantasy XIII was certainly lacking in a lot of things, but in particular that romance we’d seen in previous installment.
