Anyway, if it’s the case, dear mods and admins, do feel free to move it in the appropriate forum. Thanks lol

Anyway, I’m not going to explain much in detail, because the article pretty well explains it itself , so :

So, what do you guys think about it ?

Both titles will be sold separately for a price tag of 3800 yen ($33) each, though avid fans of the series can also purchase the limited-edition package, which includes both games and three action figures, for a whopping 8800 yen ($76).

Okay, Square has just gone entirely insane. What the hell are they thinking? The greed of this completely overwhelms me.

Weren’t those games already re-released in Japan for Wonder Swan? :eye: I agree, that is overwhelming greed. The sad this is, people are going to buy it.

I’m soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy! i love the FF oldies!! this better come to North America though! for now i’ll just play FF1 on my emulator till i can snatch a copy…

I don’t see what’s so bad about this…………..

It’s bad because, by today’s standards, FF1 and 2 were very small games. I can understand remaking them for a handheld system like GBA or Wonderswan, or maybe remaking them for PS1 but putting them on the same CD and selling it for $30, but the fact that they’re selling each game for $30 is absurd. And yet Square’s probably doing the most intelligent thing with this, because they know people will buy it.

Personally, if they release these in the US and they’re the same as (or better than) the WonderSwan versions, I’ll rent the games over winter break or some other time when I can get away with doing nothing but playing videogames all day. Cheaper that way.

well, i think they would group the games together for the US release (if it gets here) like Anthology or Cronicles.. and i’m sure it would cost the same amount as those.. maybe 75$ can at the most (about 50$ US) i would think.. and since i’m a die-hard FF fan and i love old FF games… it’s well worth it for me 🙂 but everyone has their own opinion 🙂

…it’s not the same thing. What are they going to do, completely re-work all the graphics in the game? We’re talking 8 bits of loveliness if they don’t, and that would make the CD hold less than a meg of information. Now, if they DO recreate the graphics, I can see $33, but that’s assuming that they have all the stuff that the newer games have.

Also, Fujin is right. 1 and 2 are short compared to most of the newer games. I don’t see what Square can do about that. Oh… never mind, I do. RANDOM CUTSCENES! WOOHOO!

MasteroftheObvious, they don’t even have to make new graphics; they’ve already done that. There’s a gameboy-like console in Japan called a Wonderswan Color which has SNES-quality graphics, and Square already remade the first three games for it. So if they made a PS1 version, they could just make it off the WonderSwan version and it would look like FFVI or something.
