Challenge: How Fast Can You Get Out of Midgar?

All right, here’s a new challenge idea.

The challenge is simple. Try get out of Midgar onto the World Map as fast as possible. There are no restrictions (‘cept you can’t use editors); you may run from battles and do anything else you could normally do in the game to speed things up. The challenge begins from the moment the game starts till you hit the world map for the first time and save your game.

I’m going to have to classes for this challenge:

Verified: This class is for those that have the PC version of the game. To get into this class, just send me your saved game out of Midgar. [email protected] I’ll check it out and then post you in the verified listings.

Unverified: This is for those who have the game on Playstation or who don’t want to participate in the Verified class (no cross-playing, if you include a score in Verified, then I’m not also including it in this class.) Just report your time and I’ll add you to the listings. Please be honest, it just works better when everyone’s that way. 🙂

I’ll use my current time out of Midgar (not even trying to get out particularly fast) as a benchmark: 2:34

(If you already have a savegame right out of Midgar, or any place further than Midgar with a lower time than that, you can go ahead and send it to me now. Oh, and if anybody wants to verify my time, I’d be glad to send them my save.)

I have the Playstation version so I have no means of verifying, so you’ll have to put me in the unverified group… anyways assuming this doesn’t get closed i’m in.

It’ll probably take me a couple of days because my friends borrowing my copy, but I don’t think i’ll be able to beat 2:34 anyways!

Well, if you’re interested, then give it a try. I wasn’t even trying to go particularly fast on that one. I went up the stairway at the Shinra headquarters and did some other stuff you don’t have to do, so it’s definitely possible to go faster.

Yeah but I usually get sidetrack in Wall market going in the honeybee in XD, also in the shinra building I do the sidequests so i’ll probably take around 3 hours!
