What is the best final Fantasy Game

i gotta go w/ ff6. It was the first video game i was ever really into. the story was great, it gave the player freedom 2 do as they wish later on, the villain was superb, the characters were developed quite nicely, and the dialogue was kEwL.

i.e. Kefka (the villain): Wait he says. Do I look like a waiter?

it opened me ^ to the gaming world….ahh…memories.

well, i’m doing ff7, i know parts of the storylines on other ff’s. but, i’ve not played them. i sometimes watch my brother play… So, i guess i gotta put ff7. it has a cool storyline. :rolleyes:

I voted for Final Fantasy VII, as it was the first FF i ever played and thought it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

The villain was the best EVER!!!, beats Ultimecia by miles.
The chracters were suprbly developed,
the story line is MIND-BLOWING,
the battle system is the BEST EVER!!!

I have to go with FF9(*jumps around and cheers for FF9*). Come on, who can’t love a cute little monkey boy theif who is supposed to destroy the world, huh?huh? I thought so!

Hmmm after long thinking (duh not!!!).
I veted for FFVII. Y do u ask?? Cuz it is the best. The battle system rocks and the limit breaks r great, the summon r kewl and the story just can’t b beaten.

Anyhoo, I went with FFVII. It’s a great and well-rounded game that just gives you all of these mixed emotions. You might just be sitting there crying or something, then think to yourself why am I crying over just a game? Because it’s a good game, that’s why.

It made you laugh when Cid was an ass, it made you cry when a certain favorite character died. It was the best game ever and it put so much of a spin on the rest of the video gaming world.

While FF7 was the first game I played, I just could NOT get into it. I really don’t know why, as I’m playing it now and of course, I’m realizing how much I love it…

… but FF9 hooked me right from the start, kept me hooked throught the whole game… and had me going back for more after I was done. Best game I’ve ever played. I’ve played it several times over now and I still can’t get enough of it.

FF10 and FF7 are vying for second place. 😀

Yeah well, thats my vote. FF9 came in second and then FFX. FFVII’s dead last for me. 😛

I love both FF7 and FF8, but I choose FF7.

It has a great storyline and I like it lots. The characters go well with the story, making it even better =D~
I like FF8 almost as much. It has great characters and is really realistic ^_^ The story line has partly a love story to it, which I really like. Squall is kool =D~~

I like FF8 the most, but I think FF7 is better… :uh?: Well yeah, FF8 is my favourite, had a good story to it, great music, nice junction system, everything. Best story, best characters(Cloud, Red XIII, Vincent, etc (yeah ok Cait Sith sucked!!)), best final boss (Sephiroth KICKS ASS), truly addictive…

FF7 is the best game ever made for any console…
It will be very very very hard to make a game that is half what FF7 is…

I dissagree. Define "true" fan. Do you mean those that were there from the begining or the ones that jumped in at FF 7.;)

Anyways, I pick FF6. FF5 has it beat in gameplay, but FF6 has the best story, best characters, best music, and dare I say best villian in the series.

pfft Final fantasy 7. well okay the game was good. but how can you compare it to final fantasy 4? FF4 is better in all aspects (including graphics XD) The story might be better in ff7 but ff4 allows you 5 characters in one party! ff4 also has the good plot and its horribly addictive 🙂

vii was the greatest ground breaker of them all. at the time is was just plain HUGE and beutiful. it also has one of the best stories of games.

HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT! Ok, FF4 was good, but nothing compared to FF7, and FF6 was joke it was boring, repeatitive, took ages to get started, the character development was shit.
But FF7 rules them all very closely followed by FF9.

Yes, DB is totally correct. Final Fantasy 7 was the best of them all, overall. Too many ways to explain. And 9 was damn good, right behind 7.

He is entitled to his opinion, just as you are. How is 4 nothing compared to 7? I strongly dissagree with your FF6 statement and there are many that would back me up. Repeatitive? 7 wasnt? "character development was shit" Well once again your opinion, but IMO it has the best characters and development in the series with 9 a close second.

Ah, I voted for FF8 as it’s just a ruley game to put it simply. Heh, it would take me to long to type up all it’s good points so I will leave it at that. Yup, laziness is a must in my book.

I’ve gotta go with FFVII. 😀 FFX would be a close second, though. Those two are my favourites. Still, they’re all awesome games. =)

I voted for FF7 because i think it has the best story (even if there are parts missing). FF6 is my second favorite.

For some reason I really like FF8 all though I like 7 and 9 a bit aswell but I haven’t seen alot of ten or the earlier ones.

::Takes a deep breath:: You wana know the best final fantasy well it would have to be with out a doubt final fantasy 3 which in japan would be 6 but i like ot call it 3 cuz thats the game i own you know the one with the moogle one it next to chrono trigger it is the best role playing game i’ve ever played all thought characters all thouse secret thing you can do for hundreds of hours boy makes me wana play it agian just thinking about it…every one had there own special story line and it all lead up to the final batle with my favorite villian kefka whos laugh has stayed with me as a trade mark to his evil and there reall good with the story in that the first time you go throgh it you never imagen how powerefull a foe that lil guy is lie when you fight him at the imperial camp out side of doma castle he’s a push over and then in the battle for the frozen esper he is a liol more challenging but the next time you see hime he has all this power like fire 3 and stuff and you ask youre self was he just toying with me last time? there than that the ending is soooo worth it!! and isnt final fantasy known for its blockbuster endings ^_^ well thats my say on this matter now i think im gonna go and kick some kefka butt!!

7 was the first i played. Im not going to do the ordinary thing of its best cause its the 1st i played. 6 is where my vote goes.

Kefka was the best villain IMHO of any game ive played.. i explained elsewhere…..
Edgar and sabin were awesome characters, well developed and i liked their connection.
Cyan and Celes – the main warriers. Its like….we have this guy with a kikass mustouch (cant spell it sorry). And celes. Runic was just too good. She was a great character in how she was portrayed, he feelings and emotions I really connected with her character.
Mog was a playable character…. say no more……
Locke was a hardass thief who got to steal clothes. His occasional one liners were cool too.
I liked the way that post-cata was like a REAL cataclysm, no nonsence everything is screwed.
I liked shadow aswell. He was a hardass ninja but with the soft side. I actually saved him aswell…..!!!!
The esper/magic system was awesome aswell. I mean…. ahh i love them espers.
Finally – no real main character. No defined "you must have me in ur party if you have me" an open 4 man party. I dont have to have locke or edger…i could have whoever the hell i liked.
(My party was Mog, Sabin, Celes and a toss up btw cyan and edgar)
and there is lots more but i cant be bothered to list them. Heres a few short reaons why 6 kcked the living hell out of any otehr FF

I actually appreciate that you revived this old thread, it’s very interesting to see how back in 2002 every single shriner was taken in by Final Fantasy VII (with the exception of a few IX fans)

Now almost everyone realizes how bad a game FFVII is, infact the only place on the forum I can find FFVII fans are in the FFVII forum.

I was never taken in by FFVII.

Granted, I used to like it considerably more then I do now, but even then it was one of my least favorites.

WELL I THINK ITS TRULY HARD TO PICK WHICH FINAL FANTASY WAS BETTER BECAUSE EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN OPINION…I LOVE FF7 JUST BECAUSE IT WAS ONE OF MY FIRST GAMES THAT I LOVED (LUNAR 1 AND 2 ALSO ROCKED) AND BOUGHT ON MY OWN. BUT WHAT I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT FF7 IS SPECIAL BECAUSE IT WAS SOMTHING NEW FOR GAMERS WHEN IT CAME OUT AND HAD SOME VERY UNEXPECTED TWIST AND TURNS. ANYWAY I’M NEW TO THIS SITE BUT NOT TO THE FINAL FANATSY WORLDS BEAT ALMOST ALL OF THEM EXCEPT FOR X-2 AND 9 ….TACTICS IS SECOND FOR ME.

I like all tham the same
there all good so I cant pick to hard
tho FFIII was the best storyline
