hmm, i haven’ read any poems yet from non-english speaking countries ( has there been any?). anyway i think i’ve said it before, i’m a pilipino from of the Philippines. FF rules here too.

the translation is just an approximate
here goes:

Sa Buntong Hininga
(In A Sigh)

Kapag kaw ay aalis na
lilingon na lang ako
upang makita kang tumatalilis
patungo sa iyong dako ng mundo
aalalahanin ko na lang ang
kaasulan ng langit para
ako�y makatiis sa init ng araw
�ang araw mo
sa paglubog naman ng liwanag
pag tuyo na ang mga ilog ng luha
at pwede na akong makapagsalita
ng di humihikbi
pwede na akong tumatayo
at umalis sa tabi ng bintana
sa panahaon ang mga alon ng mga dahon
sa hangin ay hindi na
magmukhang alon ng
iyong buhok
sa oras na iyon maari ko nang
hanapin ang aking sarili

translation:

When you are about to leave
I will look back
to see you running
toward your side of the world
I will then think of the
blueness of the sky so that
I can stand the heat of the sun
�your sun
and when the darkness has deepened
when the rivers of tears have gone dry
and I can speak without choking
my words
then I can stand
and leave the window side
in time, the wave of leaves
in the wind will no longer
remind me of the waves of
your hair
at that time I can
find myself.
