The Kalm Chest.

Has anybody been able to open the Kalm Chest yet ? Last time i read this thread nobody had a clue but that was a long time ago now. For anyone who doesnt know the Kalm Chest is a large chest upstairs in one of the houses in Kalm. When you press the actions near it it says "This is locked….". Any good news ?

witch house in kelm has the locked chest I don’t remember seeing it

It’s either in the house next to the Inn or the one next to that, my memory is a bit fuzzy. Its not like a treasure chest, its large and sort of whiteish.

U can’t open that chest though I’m not sure about which chest ur talking about, I do know that if u give the man the Earth Harp (u’ll get it after defeating Emerald Weapon) he’ll give u 3 master materia’s (master magic, master summon and master command). suposedly the come out of the chest ur talking about.

but the chest isnt in the kalm travellers house…..

the kalm traveller lives on the other side of town and he gives you the materia..

the chest isn’t mentioned in the official guide sooooo… maybe its a big surprise..haahaahaha

what about digging for the key in bone village likie for the midgar sector key

I personally think its just more japanese homour like the law materia, just wanted to see if anyone else knew about it. and no, its nothing to do with the kalm traveller.

maybe it’s a spoof, or perhaps when game was translated they somehow made a glitch and the chest is useless now. so many possibilties…..

No. The locked chest has NOTHING to do with the Kalm Traveller. I’ve completed that mini-quest and he doesn’t go anywhere near that house. The Underwater materia he has hidden under his bed, I think he gives you the master materias, and the third prize is a gold chocobo, so there’s no way that could fit in a chest.

So, which leaves us back at the beginining. What is that locked chest for, and how do you open it? Only Square knows for sure.

As other shriners have said, there isn’t any way of opening it, and it does not have anything to do with the whole Kalm quest. It’s just another thing that square puts in to tease you, like blocked doors you’ve never been in, and stuff like that.

if there was a plan to bring aeris back to life there might have been some thing you needed in that chest to do it and it is locked becase it is not in the game

The original plan to bring Aeris back to life before it was scrapped was based entirely within Midgar and The City Of The Ancients. there was no mention of anything in Kalm.

theres the dodgy theory that you can use the tissues given to you in the gold saucer to revive Aeris, you go to the church in the slums and cry when you see the ghost of Aeris… the ghost does appear but i didnt have any tissues so i dunno if it works…. it takes a lot of moving about
you have to go back to the city of the ancients and see aeris’s "grave" and then cry there as well i think
