Okay. I dont really expect anyone to be able to shed any light on this, but if you can, splendid! I just feel like ranting a bit.. Soo yeah.

Why the frig cant Flash, Illustrator, Freehand, and/or any Vector graphics program, work in a Z axis? Vector graphics are all about mathematical calculations right? Sooo why cant they add a 3rd dimension to it? Like, if you have a box on the 2d plane, you can rotate it left or right (on the X or Y axis), scale it, distort it, all that fun stuff. But you cant you say, "push" it back from one of the corners to get a specific perspective? you can kinda do that using the perspective, distort, and skew tools, but those arent really REAL Z axis tools. It’s faking it, and it hardly ever looks good or real. I suppose in Flash with all the animation and what not, adding another axis would just make it too complicated.. But whats the big deal about the other programs? Give us a 3rd dimension!!! Pleeeease! >_<

……. k im done.

yeah, ive always wondered that… i always thought programs like 3D studio max did vector but in 3D.

i guess by adding another dimension you times the complicity by about 10, and then theres the issue with how how big the style sizes are, a complecated image could take up alot of file space.

but you never know, mabye in photoShop 8 (7 is already out) they will add somthign like that.

well, in A WAY, it sorta does. when its in wireframe mode, all it is is just mathematical calculations telling where the objects are what the looks like. but when its rendered, its rastorized. when its in wireframe, it isnt even REAL vector because its the programs own proprietary 3D engine. 3DS CAN export to flash and stuff. but even then, its not real 3D. it just draws the 2D shapes with perspective.

i dunno about that. but most artists dont really care about file size and such (ive had some photoshop documents as big as 500mb). i cant accept that they havent added 3D capabilites to the vector engine just because its more complicated.

well, photoshop, A) isnt a vector based program, and B) doesnt REALLY work in 3D.
