If 12 is on gamecube I can get rid of my overpriced ps2 and buy me a gamecube and still have money left over.
square wouldnt be stupid enough to leave rpg fanatics with a ps2 dangling
so looks like FF stays in the ps2 in a way and in another leaves it. hope this doesn’t turn as good as fftactics did
yea but square has already announced 12 on ps2 so we’ll jus have to wait and see
So basically the only purpose a ps2 for me is to play ps2 games and the only game so far I really enjoy is final fantasy 10. I thought I would like GTA3 but I don’t like it either cause it has crap controls.
How do you hold the controler? :p
Anyways, Final Fantasy 12 is prolly going to the PS2… heck, the main Final Fantasy series might stay with Sony (since Sony owns most of Square). Spinoffs and side-series are likely going to be for the Nintendo GameCube… but then again, it’s too early to tell anything.
And second I don’t think they would ever dare take Final Fantasy away from the playstation think of all the buisness and customers they would loose. In my opinion Game Cube sucks! big time! Playstation 2 is way better and it would be a very stupid mistake to take Final Fantasy away from it!
Will ff12 be on ps2? yes and no
Yes : Because sqaure wont leave us gamers in the wind on ff12.
No : No because the fate of ps2 in my eyes is swinging in the very same wind…im sorry but sony cant survive on the profits that ffx bring in alone…and there really aint many great games for ps2 right now…so we’ll see.
According to a article I read it said Final Fantasy is going back to Nintendo. But it does not say which ones. Maybe they will consider making it for ps2 AND GC. I really am displeased with my ps2. I mean for the price I paid for it a Gamecube is a much better system. I mean sure I can play ps1 games and watch dvd’s. But I have to keep my DVD player cause my ps2 won’t play VCD’s. And I have to keep my ps1 cause the ps2 is too hard to mod to play my backups. I make backups of every game if I have the resources to do so. I remember stepping on a 50 dollar game CD and sony told me tuff sh$t I gotta spend 50 bucks if I want it back. We all know a CD costs near to nothing to make, so its sony’s fault that people have to use cd-r backups.

have you ever even tried gamecube? and if you did, it must have been a shitty game, gc is one of the best consoles ive ever bought. And you know, if you had the money you would buy gamecube at the drop of a hat.
First thing sony doesnt own sqauresoft they own like 29% of sqaure’s stocks wich means sqaure can make a game for whatever system they choose.
Second sqaure wouldnt be stupid to make games on other systems because they would make even more money…so i dont see how it would be stupid. 😀
Perhaps of most interest to RPGamers is the example Wada cited to back up his statements; Final Fantasy XII, which as of yet remains shrouded in mystery, has been confirmed as a PlayStation 2 release. For the first time, a tentative release date has also emerged; Wada has indicated Square plans to release the game sometime in 2003.
Wada did not clarify whether or not a Final Fantasy title would eventually appear on the GameCube; he did, however, say that there were programmers within Square who wished to do so. He went on to say that this does not pose a conflict of interest for the company in terms of its relationship with Sony, since the latter’s console is more focused on the online aspect of gaming (Wada referenced Final Fantasy XI as an example of this focus), while Nintendo is currently concentrating on the more traditional offline console titles. He then emphasized that Game Designer Studios will be responsible for titles developed for Nintendo.
This interview doesn’t exactly clear up any of the uncertainties surrounding the Square-Nintendo reconciliation, but it does give some indication that perhaps, development on FFXII has begun. RPGamer will provide information on that title as it becomes available.
