Okay, this is hopefully just a rumor but I’ve heard that Final Fantasy’s XII and XIII are coming out on Gamecube because Square likes the "look" of the system. I don’t think this can be true when Square and Sony are basically one in the same. Anwyay, anyone know anything about this? And what the hell is happening with the International Release?

I doubt Square will move it to series to another system. They would piss ALOT of ps2 owners off considering several people bought the ps2 mainly cause of square. I know if square games was on the gamecube Id have bought it instead. Actually I have to say it think it wouldn’t be too bad, then I could sell my overpriced ps2 and buy a 150 dollar gamecube.

People are paying almost full price for USED ps2’s on e-bay right now.

🙁 Sorry to dissapoint those of you who want to play it on GameCube, but it won’t be happening. Nintendo and Square are on…’bad terms’. Nintendo took Square’s decision to develope for the PlayStation instead of the Nintendo 64 as a direct insult :notgood:. Sorry people. Xbox is a possibility, but GameCube isn’t happening anytime soon, if ever. Besides, PS2 has a much more powerful processing engine than the LameCube . It would make the game much worse. The graphics required for Square’s taste would be too much for a good game on GameCube. Xbox is possible because it has an even more powerful engine, but it’s not likely. Anyways, sucks to be you if you wanted it on GameCube. By the way, I got this info from GamePro, so it’s pretty reliable.

and we won’t involve the fact that Sony sort or less owns a ## % of Squaresoft. So sony would make it highly unlikely to release a game of FF on the Cube.

I wouldn’t mind it going on gamecube but, since sony owns 19 percent of squaresoft shares and square and nintendo are a bit peeved at each other then i don’t know if it’s gonna happen. Oh yeah, Gamecube is way more powerful thann ps2:)

From what I’ve just heard Nintendo and Square EA, have indeed sealded the deal to bring the FFseries to the Gamecube. Check out the story here

All my sources say that Square and Nintendo will work together, but a Gamecube release for their FF games are not planned. Ive heard Square would keep on programming for PS2.
