What do you prefer? Anime OR manga?

I wonder if you generally prefer buying a manga (printed, for reading) or an anime (tape, DVD, for watching).

What do you like more?

Reading the stories? Well drawn black and white pictures, you can skip pages and study the art of the authors and stare at you favourite scene for hours. You can read them whereever you are, driving a bus or before you sleep.

OR

Watching it on your TV screen. Seeing the persons move, listening to their beautiful voices and the background music and all the sounds…

I must say I still prefer my beautiiful manga, though I prefer some anime to their manga adaption (aka Slayers, Evangelion). But somehow the paper fascinates me a lot more than any animated picture.

What about you?

I like both. You can’t really pick one since it all depends on the anime/manga.

I started out reading manga. Dragon Ball Z, if you want to know which one. DBZ was the best manga of its time, and is still pretty good now. The anime, however, sucks. In the case of Dragon Ball, I’d pick the manga over the anime anytime.

In the case of something like Vandread, there is no manga, so there’s no way I can read it. I can only watch it as an anime. If I had pick manga over anime, I would miss out on this great series.*hugs Vandread*

So it really all depends.

…actually..I prefer both….it’s fun reading it..because you can get the same enjoyment out of reading…

for me. anime comes first. so much enjoyment when i watch. and you can fall in love with with faster too i think. :p

if i find out the manga gets deeper and is less edited than the anime, then i go and get the manga of the anime i can’t get enough of. like sailor moon. i even love the american dubs and watch them over and over and over and over. i can’t get tired of it. but now i want MORE. so i baught a manga to learn more and get what i couldnt get from the anime.

i also plan to get the db manga since i hear it gets CRAZY! *drools over bulma*

I prefer watching over reading :p Both are fun and I enjoy to do, but watching the stuff is just a little bit better Imo.

Of course anime,what else……by watching from tv screen it will make me to understand the meaningfull from the movie.;)

I prefer anime, though I do like reading mangas. IMHO, in anime you get a much better idea of the story than when reading.. 😮

Then again, you can stare at all bishies in mangas for hours, and not get a new scene every time :p 😉

i’d like to say ANIME, it’s much better than manga….i like to hear the character’s voice.:D

I would say I much prefer the taped version, so Anime. Down here in Australia we don’t get much Anime or for that matter Manga. But I would prolly have to go for Anime then also, I am not much of a reader.

I prefer manga. Mainly because it doesn’t include horrid voice actors.

I like both really. Anime isn’t always released in the UK. We didn;t get DBZ till 2000 (but were already up to the Buu saga :D), and we det the FUNimation/AB Ocean version so basically it’s cut. The Manga is un-cut. I like watching it and reading it.

Now, when is that copy of DB book #7 gona come in? 😀

i like manga cuz sumtimes cuz i get bored of watching tv and i fall asleep (i’m not proud of it!) well, i also like imagining wat the characters voice sound like. my friend and i like making impressions of manga characters. u should here my friends version of kaoru! lol i’m still on the ground laughin
