If you enjoyed the original Vampire Hunter D, then you’ll like the sequal. I just saw it today a bunch of my friends and it totally rulz! That movie just totally blew me away. D kicked major ass.

So, has anyone seen it yet? What did you think of it? If you haven’t seen it yet, do you wanna see it? Discuss.

PS: If anyone wants to really know what happened, they can PM me in chat. 😀

I saw the movie and I agree, it totally kicks ass. I want Meier Link’s cloak… and, is it just me, or did D’s hand get WAY older?

Both the original VHD and Bloodlust are part of a healthy, balanced, complete, Anime Breakfast.

I have Vampire hunter D: Bloodlust on DVD. It’s spectacular. I first saw it at a theatre in Lancaster, CA after animagic convention. And saw it a second time in an underground theatre back home in san diego. Beautiful and the voice acting was good as well. I was surprised by that aspect.

I saw the original and thought that shit was crazy. I loved the hand. I haven’t seen the sequel, tho. I didn’t even know there was a sequel.

I have never seen Vampire Hunter D or Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust. My friends said it was superb however. By reading this thread, it seems you agree with them. GOSH I hope I can borrow it sometime.

This film was major eye candy. That’s all it was good for. The art direction was brilliant, from the colors chosen, to the way the scenes were executed, to the backgrounds. The character design was also pretty damn good.

Incredibly detailed animation, it rarely simplified the character designs, like many animes will do to speed up the animation process.

It’s also nice to see that it was almost all traditional cel animation, hand done.

However, like Yakumo, I thought, where is the rest? Where’s the story? There just wasn’t really one……

It’s just some random adventure….no real big plot.

And let’s be honest, there were no actual outstanding fight scenes, either….

ah well!!
