Need Some General Info on Final Fantasy XI

Is FF XI really gonna have the 40$ 56 K Modem and 100$ hard drive expansion included with the game for 65$??

How would sony make money doing that? I think the Beta Testers got it for like 80 bucks with all that, but I doubt other countrys will get Beta Testing packages. I did hear Sony is going to around April start includeing the Modem and Hard Drive with the Playstation, and leave it at the same price. Theres no way I will spend over 100 dollars to get the game and equipment THEN pay 10 bucks a month to play this game.

I still have my 1 year warranty on my PS2… So say I brought it back to the store complaining of a "noise." Would they give me the new one with Harddrive and modem do you think?

i personally think that FFIX isnt gonna be too good, sure its gonna sell like nothing because everyone wants the FF name and trusts squaresoft, but this is totally new territory for square, i may be wrong but i truly dont think they will pull it off, especially when u have to put 200+ down on the table just to play it

Well I know Phantasy Star On-line, while a decent game itsn’t as good as the Phantasy Star Series. IT is just nearly impossible to put a good story line, and chairactor development into a on-line game. If it was just a matter of spending 50 bucks on the game I would be willing to try it out. It is not all Squaresofts fault. I mean for 300 dollars the Playstation 2 should have AT LEAST had the modem. I mean you can buy a dreamcast for 50 bucks and they have 4 controller ports and a 56k modem with them. If microsoft can sell the xbox, which IS a better system in every aspect then the ps2 with a modem AND hardrive then Sony should have done the same with the ps2. If it wasn’t for square I wouldn’t own a ps2, and I say alot of people wouldn’t have it either
