I could, I could tell you what I would do
But why cheapin’ you by making promises
Telling you I’d capture the moon and stars for you
But why

The sun seems like a flickering candle
When held to the beautiful blave that is your soul

The moon, an imperfect mirror
Attempting to reflect your beauty

The stars, the stars grow dim
Compared to the light in your eyes

I could promise the world, the oceans and all
But the the deepest canyon could never hold my love

I could, I could try to fool you and myself
I could try so hard to lessen my thoughts

But I don’t want to try. . .

I want to love
The perfection that is. . .

That’s an awesome poem, Deus. You managed to express your feeling without sounding cliche. I find that hard to do because everytime I try to write a poem it ends up being either really cliche or mundane. Just how do you do this?
