What do think of the "Popeye" like arms the characters have in the game? Do they annoy you? Do you like them? Hate them?

Personaly i think they’re rather cool-looking and i was annoyed at first when i heard that the characters wouldn’t have them in FF8.

They are quite anoying but when you consider how old the game is the graphics are brilliant. Plus the storyline and gameplay easily make up for the in game graphics

i love it! it’s the funniest thing, especially in the cinematics, when they have real arms. i loved the new graphics in VIII and IX, but those arms defined VII somewhat in my heart. the best o fhose cinematics are SPOILER!!!

at the end when cloud pulls himself and tifa up over the cliff w/ those scrawny ass arms. they are like a 1/4 inch in circumference. the best!

As Leon said, they made the game better and so that love it more. The arms could be "attached" to the game so that if you say,"I love that ff game, which ironically I can’t remember, but I know that everyone one has spinach-can-sized arms (pun intended)."
People will know what you are talking about because if you’ve spent 20 hours or more on it, which most people have, you’ll automatically make the connection making them a symbol plus it made it more unrealistic and a hell of a lot more funny.:p 😀 😉 🙂

I thought they were okay. I don’t really miss them, though. I mean, why stick with the chubby arms when you can make proportional arms?

I didn’t mind them. I didn’t love them or hate them. But they were funny looking–that’s all.

I didn’t like em. I didn’t hate them. Actually i didn’t really pay much attention to them.

I think they’re pretty funny. It’s fun to watch them carry heavy things, like Coud’s swords, or Barret’s Final Score. They must be pole bones or somethin’. o.O

It add’s a weirdness and cuteness to the characters.Who ever said RPG characters have to look realistic?

Cloud looked bigger than the motorcycle in that one FMV and his arms were no excepotion.

I didn’t like it @ first goes… I wasn’t used to it, it made the characters look like freaks and I thought there was something wrong with the game, cuz in FMV… and Battle they looked normal, but after time I grow to like it, not love it though.
Personally i found the charecter design of FFVIII better….

I thought they were funny. They were better than the stick figures of FFVIII.

When I first played FF7 I didn’t know much better than the flat graphics of FF6. So yeah, I liked it. ^_^
I like FF7’s graphics better than FF8’s.. Sure, FF8 was realistic. But FF7’s characters just ‘have’ something.. the way they move, you know? It’s cute ^_^

You know, in some FMVs in VII, the characters still appear with the chunky look, for example in the FMV where Tifa grabs the rope from the Highwind. Kind of akward, what do you think?

There’s nothing wrong with reviving a thread is there? It’s good to give a close scrutiny of the archives sometimes.

But shouldn’t we be talking on the box hands of the FFVII characters?

The "Popeye" arms was the thing that annoyed me the most in Final Fantasy VII. ;(

Andyuk

so it’s ok to keep posting here?

the arms don’t bother me, since the characters are so squashed in the field models having full arms would look unusual.

i think it does add a certain charm to the game in a wierd way.

What’s the problem with Popeye arms? I think that Andyuk is right *hi-5!*

You should have made your own thread instead. Also, what Diablo said.
