The original soundtrack recording, to my knowledge, was not released on CD. Only re-recordings (both from Varese and FSM, and the latter release was a re-recording conducted by Bernstein himself in the 1970’s).

This isn’t a straight-to-digital vinyl transfer. It was recorded on a cassete tape and then transfered to digital. So the sound quality isn’t THAT good, but still worth it. If anyone has a better transfer, feel free to post it here (in lossless, please 🙂 )

1. Main Title (02:54)
2. Roll In The Tire (02:05)
3. The Search For Boo (02:43)
4. Jem’s Discovery (03:20)
5. To Kill A Mockingbird (02:01)
6. Tree Treasure (03:50)
7. Lynch Mob (02:42)
8. Footsteps In The Dark (01:58)
9. Children Attacked (02:01)
10. Scout & Boo (02:35)
11. Summer’s End (02:49)

Just FYI — you are correct that this has not been released on CD, which is a shame because it’s a wonderful recording. However, it is also not the film recording but yet another re-recording made at the time of the film. The original film recording has *never* been released. Intrada was working on it but Roger at Intrada said they hit unexpected rights issues and the project was scrapped! 🙁

I’ll be damned… I really didn’t know. I could swear that this was the actual film recordings.

I don’t get these people. Bernstein re-recorded his own music three times then. One for this LP, another for those 1970’s LPs that FSM released in a boxed set in 2006 and, lastly, in the 1990’s for Varese.

Are they trying to reach the stars by releasing the original recordings?

Thank you for the link. This was the film I believe that Gregory Peck finally got an Oscar. Boo Radley played by a young guy called Robert Duvall.
