Well isn't the OST and the special edition basically the same recording, or there are two different recordings conducted by Williams for the same score, apart of Gerhardt?

I thought they were the same thing, but edited into suites on the OST and in chronological order on the special edition.

There was a Insert that was written for the Special edition of the film, it was presented on the Expanded edition but was not included on the OST, most people prefer the version without the Insert so I included the OST version first then the Expanded version with the Insert as a bonus track.

Wait, the CEOT3K expanded release is not complete? Too bad. I paid a lot on that CD. It was hard to find in Hong Kong. BTW, is your complete version lossless?

Its mostly complete, just 3 cues plus the Disco variations of the CE3K theme that are really missing.

No. maybe later it will be, I don't work with lossless, I do not have the space.

Ok, I do not consider disco variations etc to be part of a "complete" album. I feel that is misleading. What two cues are missing from the special edition? And, are they Williams score, or source cues?

Unfortunately, this is not complete. The "inside the mothership" sequence is missing...

I thought the "inside the mothership" sequence was only in the Special Edition of Close Encounters of the Third Kind ?.

It is. But since this is supposed to be a "complete score" as it includes some other pieces from the 1980 special edition, it should be included as well. It's a wonderful piece, by the way...

I used the special edition... its there as an alternate/bonus track
