I know. Characters in fiction shouldn't have characteristics that I don't like.

Depends:I expect a character to be extremely 3 dimensional.
Some ff characters seem pretty shallow and uninteresting.

I don't much mind the characters In FFX,but i do hate the fucking luca goers.I hope sin eats them all alive for being dicks,and burns down their fucking city and stadium.I'd happily kill those motherfuckers myself.

This game wouldn't piss me off so much if they didn't cheat.
I mean:The first game is nearly unbeatable,and the luca goers mock you,so its like:If i were to have a team and always win because i cheat,and then beat a team and kick them in the balls and mock them,because they always lose because i cheat.
The game is just plain mean for the sake of being mean.Also:At least in real life football,its harder to cheat.Most of the real time,its about skill vs skill,not tying a weight to someone's arms and legs and then competing with them while they are blindfolded.

The Luca Goers are not cheaters. Their players just happen to have higher stats than the default Besaid Aurochs.

Also, the first game is not nearly unbeatable. It is damn hard, but not even close to unbeatable. If you get Tidus's Jecht Shot on S.S. Wino and use it on their team a couple times, then all you have to do is somehow manage to get their ball away from them and stay behind your goalie. They'll never pursue you there. Call it cheating, call it a glitch, but if you think the Goers are cheaters, then might as well use an exploit to your advantage too. But yeah, they're still assholes to rub it in your face. They've probably let the fame get to their heads, and since they know the Aurochs are too pathetic to respond with comebacks, they know they can get away with it. It's like bullying the shy kid at school; you just don't do it.

As for Jecht, there are two reason he was an asshole: he was a bad father, and Tidus was a crybaby. Seriously, this is told explicitly. He was ashamed at having a son who was easily made to cry, and because of his vanity, his ridiculously high standards for his son, and his resentment at being the father of a crying twat, he wasn't able to be the kind of father Tidus needed. Maybe there's also an Oedipus complex going on: at the Farplane scene, he sees his mother and remembers calling "Mommy!" to him, taking her away from Jecht, who says, "Ah, better go to him. He'll cry if you don't." When Jecht left, Tidus's mother lost much of her will because she was still enamored with Jecht; maybe she and Jecht weren't ready to care for a child yet.

Donna, though, is just a bitch. I've got no other explanation for ya. :P

Such characters are needed in the game though.
It gives you the motivation to give their arses some EXTREME WHOOPIN'!

All right, I'll admit, the very first time you play, before you have any experience with the game, yeah, the Goers will probably destroy the Aurochs. I was thinking once you have experience playing the game, you can hand their asses to them on a second playthrough. But yeah, before you've played a real match, they pretty much own you no matter what you do.

On the next match:Yes,but then you get humiliated and laughed at.HAHAHA you lost. ETC ETC ETC.

Besides:Its always fun to humiliate the arrogant pricks in games,because then they become humiliated.
It becomes a pain in the ass when the game is programmed to win 99% of the time though,and makes it less fun.
