It's a great listen!!

Every soundtrack collector should give this a listen even if they don't care for Mr. Herrmann's work.

This sounds awesome! John Williams is always going to be my favorite composer, but I think Herrmann is the only real contender for the runner-up spot.

Thanks for the re-up!! It's always very interesting to hear a composer discuss their work and their profession in general.

I agree and this interview is great because Mr. Herrmann speaks so candidly partly because he had total control over whether the interview would even be published.

Thank you for the re-upload, Wildwood. But I am sorry to ask a silly question: how to download this file from Jumbofiles? Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: I got it downloaded. Sorry about the "silly" question again:-)

In an E. Bernstein/RPO's Herrmann album (Milan), the last track was Herrmann's speaking. So it seems that track was from this interview.

your clicking the wrong download buttons.

Easiest way is to just sign up with them give them any old email address and when you return the screen will be devoid of all that extra stuff.

Really an amazing find. I bought this on CD when it first came out and was mesmerized. It's like you are in a time machine and suddenly, there you are, in Herrmann's house, sitting across from him on the couch. You hear stuff like his dog's collar as he comes in and out of the room, clock chiming, etc. Oh - and they talk about movies, too.. ;)

It is great stuff, and the picture on the cover is the LA River (after a big rain) which is just a stone's throw away from his house on Bluebell in North Hollywood.

Oh, is it? I didn't know that. I am in Los Angeles myself. Where was his house exactly. Maybe one day after work I will drive past it...

Thanks WildwoodPark! My favorite film score composers are Korngold, Herrmann, Rozsa and Tiomkin so I am very much looking forward to listening to this interview. Also, Hitchcock is my favorite film director. Thanks again.

I just noticed this, thank you so much WP and Mr Salat. Fascinating, Herrmann's as argumentative and cantankerous as I imagined but all the same a brilliant creator of music and my favourite American composer along with Philip Glass.
