Jack, on the second track, there are some SFX that you can remove VERY easily! there are people talking, and (most noticibly) a DOG barking outside (it sounds). It really sounds like you had an open mike. I looked at that part of the movie last night, and never heard any dog barking, or people talking and shuffling around. One thing I found out very young was, when recording, your SPEAKERS can act like microphones! If they are connected in the right way, your speakers can flood back into your recordings! I couldn't figure out, when I was young, why my music recordings had my squeeky chair making noise during the silence between tracks! When I started working in the movie biz, one of the recording techs told me about the speaker situation! So, this may be how this dog noise was getting into your music tracks! Check it out! Other than that, GREAT recording. :)

What would you be recording through a microphone anyway, if you're already using a DVD audio extractor? That seems pretty strange that there would be SFX in the audio that don't appear in the movie--interesting explanation, William.

Jack, I think he's telling you that you can remove the SFX. It is never a good idea for someone to try to fix up audio that's already been edited and processed once.

The only way that I can get rid of the dog barking is to tell it to SHUT THE HELL UP!!! (Hehehehehe) :)

Well, Dimensioner, if someone is using "Audicity" to record music playing on their computer, their speakers or microphone CAN record outside sounds (such as a chair squeeking) or a dog barking, etc. Not very likely, but possible. Same chances as getting hit by that NASA space thingy whateveritwas that was supposed to crash in the Pacific somewhere (but they don't know exactly where)

Exactly - the extractor should give an ac3 file that can be split into its 5 channels, remove the centre, and hey presto.

I still don't understand why the unreleased material sounds so distant though, compared to the official tracks? It's like somewhere in the process of saving the tracks, they've been converted to mono.

the second track is mono by mistake but the rest of the tracks are stereo
