Hi everybody!

I need an advice on something similar to Maken X original sound tracks (http://vgmdb.net/album/2498).

or other works of Shoji Meguro (Digital Devil Saga,Persona3,4) when he focuses on electronic and rock edgy styles.

Here are some samples of what I'm talking about:

Maken X Original Sound Tracks- Vienna - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmKq6j5A3vw)

Maken X Original Sound Tracks- Hong Kong - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqua47MjjF0)

Persona 3 - Master of Tartarus - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afTT1USIFXA)

Persona 4 OST- Castle - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj56StjcEnc)

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga OST - Embryon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F55MaVFAE3g)

"Relief" - Digital Devil Saga 2 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tee1ZPnxj_U)

If you know any analogous albums, artists or even separate stand alone tracks that sound alike with those mentioned above, please do post them up here.

It can be from a video game, J-rock, J-pop, J-live action films, anime, doesn't really matter.

I tried to focus on edgy sound.

Selections from:
Shoji Meguro or related:

Maken X Remix Soundtrack L'Image
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne i see this as his magnum opus
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable Voice Mix Arrange
Catherine

Masafumi Takada:

Danganronpa
God Hand
Killer7
No More Heroes 1
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Vanquish

others:

Dead Rising 1
Guwange Arrange Album
Magna Carta 1

Motorstorm Apocalypse
No More Heroes 2
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (Onimusha 4)
Opoona

I recommend Masafumi Takada (http://vgmdb.net/artist/1530) as the composer you may like. ;)

Wow, I never expected so many recommendations in just one reply! It's great to see someone else appreciates this sort of stuff :)

Thanks a lot DanteLectro, I'll be sure to check them all out!

Hey what's up DanteLectro. Yeah I definitely did like some stuff from that megapack. Let's see, the personal favorites would be:

from "electronic" :

01 - Combat Formula (Maken X Remix Soundtrack L'Image)
31 - Stage (Catherine)
115 - Cashmere Cannonball (No More Heores)
117 - Breaking Through the Wall (Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army)

from "rocky" :

03 - Normal Battle ~Labyrinth of Amala~ (Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne)
49 - Umbrella Lives On (Umbrella Chronicles)
105 - Test of Valor 1 (Onimusha Dawn of Dreams)
110 - Fierce Battle (Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne) -- this track was referred to as "barking dogs" on youtube :p ...this is an awesome battle theme, though my all-time-favorite is still Master of Tartarus.
110 - Guwange-sama (Last Boss) (Gunwange Arrange Album + Original Sound Track)
209 - Test of Valor 4 (Onimusha Dawn of Dreams)
214 - Test of Valor 5 (Onimusha Dawn of Dreams)

Must say that Onimusha Dawn of Dreams was a really nice surprise, cause I didn't expect the music in a game like that to be as rocky-cocky & edgy as it was. So will check out the rest of the OST asap.
Also Gunwange seems like a very interesting mix of traditional japanese melodies with modern techno rock. Excellent stuff, will find the rest of it.

Some of the tracks listed above are by Shoji Meguro so I pretty much already knew and heard them before hence was asking for similar style, but that's perfectly fine that you included them and I appreciate the effort :)

. . .

And here are more sample/examples to go along with the topic (not all of them are VGM, but like I said it doesn't have to be):

Eiko Shimamiya - Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni PV - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmhZ6FYoNEs)
Shikabane Hime Aka - De:Light AMV - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpKZEi0KGiQ&list=LLSAnqsdLsV35ZmZBemTzkfg&index=61&feature=plpp_video) [Blue Stahli - The Pure and the Tainted]
RAGE Uprising Trailer Music - PP Music (Disturbed) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHlU-D1EfOA)
Modern Warfare 2's BEST Soundtrack - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0Q2vR4VcZE)
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles - Live Evil - - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8G1G19n7jg)
Zombie Shooter 2 Soundtrack - Action 10/11 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anYZBf7obdw)
04. Hellgate London Soundtrack - The Dawn of War - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_qdTljdi-c&feature=related)

No More Heroes Dark Side Soundtrack - NO MORE RIOT - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW3zbF1Dm5g)
Map of the Problematique (Instrumental) ~ Muse - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOjk1v6iVQs)
Ever 17: The Out of Infinity [Soundtrack] : LeMU - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFUSbcXU0cM)
Remember11: Little Prophet (Ambient Mix) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyhETJLusck)

Hitman - Codename 47 (OST) - Hospital Themes - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FNTQbrnnO0)
Hitman codename 47 OST - Harbor Themes - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhBvIRwJvWY)
Prelude - Borderlands Soundtrack - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usL9hGO0Gt0)

With techno-ambient tracks from Hitman and Borderlands (by Jesper Kyd), you gotta give them time to build up because the best happens at the end.

Overall you can see the tendency that I prefer dark techno music with some sort mystery twist to it + heavy electronic guitar riffs.

So yeah, hey if you wanna add something to this feel free to do so anytime :)

. . .

Also Vanquish seems to have some cool tracks on it, as I just started listening to it on youtube while providing links to this post.

Vanquish seems to have some cool tracks on it, as I just started listening to it on youtube while providing links to this post.

Vanquish was a diappointment for me as i love Masafumi Takada's previous works and Erina Niwa did great on jazzy Bayonetta, so i expected memorable edgy sci-fi surprises, but Vanquish is mostly flat - not much melody. :(
I liked 105 - Breaking into the Colony (second half) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=w7eDvHUWaQ8#t=86s), 301 - Central Park (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbpjDuAkSss), and mostly 311 - Heroic Demise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRzjN5iSqzk).

What's interesting in Combat Formula (Maken X Remix L'Image) is that Kurtis Mantronik is not a game music composer, he's a house music producer/DJ - i don't know how he ended up with Maken X.

I checked out your youtube links, I liked the Shikabane trailer, Hitman, and i already had a game rip of Borderlands, the rest are too metal for me. Mean and rough. :) I didn't think you were into metal so i refrained from putting metal stuff in the pack.

Here's Harmonia Vita (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y0lfn8Sv4g) from Sigma Harmonics.
Ace Combat 2 - Bear Tracks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfriB91J0qc)
Ace Combat Zero - The Final Overture (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_E2qSVA5iw), Annex (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itZR-lNJnPs), The Demon of the Round Table (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhuCorvi2cg)
DeathSmiles - Gravekeeper's Anger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHppysY6Ib4)

Have you heard Devil May Cry 1 & 2, and Tekken 3? Especially DMC2 has great metal ispired tracks.

Should definitely try Instinct soundtrack which I uploaded here (http://www.mediafire.com/download/133ds3vj2h6y5si/TFE.7z). This is not even nearly complete gamerip but the most rocking tracks from it which I`ve been saving for years now.

Speaking of DMC2 which I consider being the best soundtrack in the series and worth of soundtracks of 3 other games alone its spiritual successor in my eyes has always been Yakuza series. Not entire scores of course but some specific tracks and perfect examples of them are Crush & strike, Hear this in the game, More huge, Pure malice, Receive and stab you, Skirmish, Underground dazzling star, etc. from Yakuza3.

Also Contra - Shattered soldier has some electronic hard rock tracks that seem to be what you`re looking for: Download 00_slave_beast_taka_(extended).mp3 from GHthis is a track page (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2321/11), Download 00_destiny_confrontation_(extended).mp3 from GHthis is a track page (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2321/12), Download 00_level_1.mp3 from GHthis is a track page (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2321/5), Download 00_level_3.mp3 from GHthis is a track page (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2321/16), Download 00_submarine_power_plant_(extended).mp3 from GHthis is a track page (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2321/8) .

What's interesting in Combat Formula (Maken X Remix L'Image) is that Kurtis Mantronik is not a game music composer, he's a house music producer/DJ - i don't know how he ended up with Maken X.
I guess the rest of the arrangers for Remix L'Image are also not vgm composers, and collaborations like this can happen once in a while. For example Solar Fields did the soundtrack for Mirror's Edge while all his previous albums were non-vgm related. Amon Tobin did Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and some others, but mostly his works include mainstream electronica releases.

"Vanquish - Central Park" is good but I'd have to agree with you that most of the tracks are generic and are simply background fillers.
"Harmonia Vita" was wonderful, I really liked it.
Also I'm digging "Ace Combat Zero - The Final Overture" and as a response to that would go with Ace Combat: Assault Horizon OST - Dogfight - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUUchxqHIpM)
By Rio Hamamoto, I think this guy makes excellent "tough fight" music and his tracks from other Namco game OSTs are among my favorites.

I did listen to Tekken 3 before, it truly is an excellent soundtrack with a wide range of styles. As for DMC I haven't really played nor listened to the soundtracks of the first two games, but will def give it a shot.

And yes I am into metal :) ...But can be pretty picky about it, and not everything goes of course.

Should definitely try Instinct soundtrack which I uploaded here (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2ha6g124jvaz4lh). This is not even nearly complete gamerip but the most rocking tracks from it which I`ve been saving for years now.
You pretty much nailed it, Instinct has all the right kind of tracks I was looking for. At first I thought "please tell me he is not talking about Killer Instinct" :p since I never even heard about the game. Well, a quick search shows it was a rather low-score/low-profile title... but it is never the factor for how good the soundtrack can be.
Indeed this is a very nice find. I will do a complete gamerip and post it DL section of the forum.

Also about Yakuza tracks, you're correct, those are great.
I will look into Contra Shattered Soldier later.

Ryu ga Gotoku 4 - Receive And Bite You is great for bar fights, i grabbed the OST, thanks MiL!

You can download all the tracks by Rich Ragsdale from Fight Club - Original Game Audio MP3 Downloads (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/6892) though but others are rather metal than
dark techno music with some sort mystery twist to it + heavy electronic guitar riffs;

Again you can grab all the tracks from here (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/4223) or here (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/3529) but I tried to refrain from straightforward metal because that would increase an amount of stuff for possible recommendations almost infinitely.

Enough for now as each expansion of what you`re looking for (from dark techno to industrial metal then to almost any rock/metal including FF, Ace combat, MW2) brings up a whole new and wider layer of music to recommend. And almost forgot that you`re also looking for techno-ambient tracks similar to those from Hitman and Borderlands and that broadens borderlines of acceptable music even further. I can remember more soundtracks or even individual tracks which can possibly have an appeal for you but I need at least some limitations. For example I think that you should like at least a few tracks from Goldeneye (not 007 but Rogue agent) and The Bourne conspiracy both composed by Paul Oakenfold but maybe you don`t want stuff like that anymore and are now looking mostly for melodic techno with vocal. So to summarize such a wide array of genres represented in your video samples isn`t going to help you in your search much.

Are you thoroughly familiar with music not originated from any visual media? Because since you mentioned that its origins don`t mean much to you I can suggest you some bands performing industrial rock/metal but to start with this I should find out if your search for what you should like has really led you somewhere far from soundtracks area. For example do the names of Acumen nation, Cliff Lin, GrobyC, LAHO, Noidz, Paul Udarov, Return to base, RTPN, Tyrant of death say anything to you? BTW speaking of the 1st one thus proceeding to game OSTs: they and their side project Iron lung Corp. allowed 8 songs by them to be licensed for quite an old game, Amped2 and while all of those are great my personal favorite is "Heavens to Murgatroid". The song has proven to be so successful that some unknown composers have mimicked it once and with very slight differences. Or maybe I`m missing something big and Acumen nation used to create game scores long before Unbound saga?

They have also contributed 2 tracks to PGR2 and you should like "Monster" one while "Semester of hate" is also good even despite having vocals. Also in their discography you can find a few remixes of the former.

BTW I was browsing my MF files lately and wondering at how they have managed to survive for so long as I don`t suppose my rips or OSTs (rarely) being popular. What I`m getting at is that you can try Rallisport challenge2 soundtrack (Thread 80520) and probably find at least a few interesting tracks ("Rosie", "The future behind", "Throwing a bone", "Trash talk" have high chances I guess, also "Blinded" reminds me of Rio Hamamoto`s Road mauler from Ridge racer6 somehow).

Just wanted to leave a quick note to say thanks for reply and to let you know that I haven't been ignoring it, I just been a little busy recently so when ever there was free time to log in to the site, I was already preoccupied with either uploading or downloading something specific.
So yeah, I'll get back to this thread soon, just give it a little time.

From the top of my head I can say that those artist's/band's names that you mentioned don't ring a bell here, but I'd like to look into it.

As always plans were grandeur but only a small portion of them was actually realized. Well, let this portion of data be a sample of what`s to come, this way you can tell me if you don`t like such format and it needs improvement or some drastic change. You see, I`ve only started and my help can be split into a few hundred of similar posts, it`s not late to change many aspects of it yet!

007 - Everything or nothing
3/3 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/b3eym9) you can say whatever you want but these tracks are included because they sound badass enough to me, that even applies to the 3rd one which may look inappropriate in this selection as it`s included by mistake until you get to the very end of it. It`d be funny if it wasn`t that disastrous that only the 3rd, the least favorite track can be found in HCS rip, I fear to think what would happen if I didn`t check any other rips, Kataah`s one for example, before trying HCS streamed but seemingly incomplete (unless I missed both the 1st & the 2nd tracks which`s very unlikely) rip. I called it disastrous because I wouldn`t have those great tracks #1&2 if I didn`t get Kataah`s version years before I even found out about HCS64 one and that`s just scary.

0 day - Attack on Earth
1/1 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/hj7sot) quite meh but has its (rare) moments.

2 gonzo chumps, The
3/6 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/euqjfw) behold Rammstein-style and alternative metal! Never mind, forget about the former, it`s not included but these 3 tracks are great too!

2XL Supercross
3/3 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/9vnyya) not much to say about this one, not too generic but not too catchy either.

2xtreme
1/1 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/2g1iif)

3xtreme
1/1 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/ymm55e) this audio track comes from a video but there`s very little of SFX in it and they`re mostly concentrated in the beginning.

4x4 Jam
3/8 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/rf51up) it was really hard to decide which to post and which aren`t that important as they`re equally good in my eyes (I mean ears). I ended simply uploading the first 3 (in alphabetical order) tracks.

18 wheels of steel - Across America
2/2 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/mcubns)

2029 online
1/1 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/basjp8) hard to say something definite about this one other than it`s moderately heavy, moderately repetitive, moderately electronically influenced, moderately badassory...

Alpha prime
3/3 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/24pqba) the 2nd track is moderately boring, the 3rd one is almost completely boring but I included them anyway. The 2nd track was considered (by whom?) to be good enough to be reused in ArmA 2 so maybe it`s just me and you`re going to love it.

American chopper 2 Full throttle1 (see bottom but before spoiler)
3/10 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/540737) one of the most varied and overall great "rock-and-nothing-else" soundtracks I`ve ever heard. Each of 26 instrumental tracks (there also were not less than 2 songs) differs from another one and surely there`s plenty of hard-rocking tracks you may like, minority of them even has some electronic touches. And I dare say that most remaining compositions, the ones I didn`t include are almost as awesome as above 3 tracks despite the fact that really heavy and even aggressive tracks are quite rare in this soundtrack. But this is just a sample pack, right? Plus I decided to select 3 tracks max per game even if there`re much more suitable tracks remaining. Oh, and considering high quality and great variety of these tracks it`s no surprise that they`re reused at least in 2 later games which have nothing to do with choppers at all.

American chopper
2/2 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/4t047d) while the 2nd one has only 2 sung tracks there`re only 3 instrumental ones in the 1st one but some of them are not bad nonetheless.

Amped - Freestyle snowboarding
1/1 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/lfjafc) this single track I uploaded to let you rate it is nothing really special and it can be really repetitive at times but that`s all the game has to offer you, it`s not Amped 2 anyway. The track becomes significantly better towards the end though.

Amped 2
3/10 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/owx944) 5 instrumentals by Acumen nation (see also Unbound saga), 3 by Iron lung corp. which is a side-project of Acumen nation itself and isn`t much different and a 15-sec stinger by unknown artist. And almost forgot, a track by an artist whose name is so easily forgettable: ASG. However their small contribution is what you should be lesser interested in. As I said previously "Heavens to Murgatroid", my personal favorite as well was used as basis for 3 tracks from the 1st MechAssault. In this preview #1&3 are by Acumen nation and the only remaining track is performed by Iron lung corp. And take in mind that not all AN or ILC songs are as heavy or driving as the tracks represented in above sample pack, so that you won`t be disappointed too much if you begin to expect every of those remaining 5 tracks to be just as good as those 3 best ones (IMO) selected for here and now.

ATV Quadro racing
2/2 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/ltau30)

MechAssault2 (see bottom but before spoiler)
3/10 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/zayl2x) one of those 10 tracks comes from an attract video and (luckily! unbelievably!) has almost no SFX at all, also they can be noticed only in the very beginning / ending. Also it`d be interesting to compare "Heavens to Murgatroid" from Amped 2 to these 3 tracks.

NeverDead
3/3 (http://anonym.to?http://www.sendspace.com/file/v0z85h) don`t get too excited with what you find in this exact package, surely there`re many rock tracks remaining (at least 10 more and that`s not counting cutscene audio) but none of them (majority of them at least) is even close to those I`ve already provided. One of tracks I didn`t include even falls into generic Japanese power metal area, to say it straight, and this is definitely not among my most favorite genres. It`s not as hyper-speed and melodic like DragonForce but anyway...

Movies
Death race 2
3/6 (http://anonym.to?http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6pmoygh8x5hrz8n) - the best tracks here... are instrumental snippets from Celldweller`s, Korn`s and the likes` super hits (The last firstborn, you name a few). Also people say that most of score was seemingly lifted from the 1st movie scored by Paul Haslinger (but personally I decline that as I`ve listened to both and didn`t notice any identical tracks) but give it a try anyway. WARNING: Some tracks may be SFX-heavy, there`s nothing I can do about that.

1 in this and all the following cases when you encounter Vorbis files with a weird sample rate of 44000Hz: yes, that`s my fault, I used such ridiculous encoder many years ago and it somehow forced such frequency in all resulting OGG files, no matter what frequency original PCM Wave files used. Sorry for that, all I can do is to rerip all such games at some point and encode them with a help of any other converter, like oggenc2.
And in general if you`re wondering about encoding of tracks don`t hesitate asking me about it, I simply can`t go into such details with every game posted but can answer questions regarding some specific titles.

2 I know it has a weird and definitely uncommon sample rate, plus it sounds more muffle and even muted compared to tracks on YouTube but at least this one is surely software rip while origin of the aforementioned videos is a mystery, maybe line-in rip. If you don`t like the sound no one restricts you to try ripping the game yourself, maybe it`s ripper who was silly and dealt with tracks like with Raw audio for some reason, maybe you`re much more advanced format recognizer than him and can rip this VGM without it sounding so low-pitched and at so high sample rate. Yes, YT videos sound much better (you can search for them of course, try looking for "MechAssault snow battle 1, 2, 3") but again where they originated from is unknown. Oh, and tracks hosted on YT are a little edited IE extended and with fade-outs (not actually sure about this).

The following titles are listed without any details because you may be familiar with them already, just in case anyone else is following this thread. Why so much is omitted? These are very well-known games/series and tried to concentrate more on stuff you wouldn`t discover that easily. I wanted to bring some more obscure and lesser-known games (and not only them) to the table and avoid sounding like a broken record at the same time (suggesting all those games and series that usually surface in such investigations, you know what I mean). BUT if I omitted way too much feel free to point those games / series out and I will elaborate on them.
PS. I automatically excluded the ones you posted yourself, those were mostly CD-rips, I hope you`re the one who listens to everything he buys / downloads ;) ?

Great post JBTND. I'd like to dive into it, except mediafire is cock-blocking the experience. They don't allow to share files publicly anymore unless the owner makes the contents viewable. Please try another host. Sendspace should be a good option.

The file you attempted to download is an archive that is damaged or possibly encrypted. MediaFire does not support unlimited downloads of broken or encrypted archives and the limit for this file has been reached. This file may only be distributed from a premium account.

We have informed the owner that sharing of this file has been limited and how they can resolve this issue.

This is such bullshit, and it's funny they don't give a reason whatsoever. "Damaged or encrypted" means they couldn't open it. They want us to let copyright holders freely snoop around all our files, or pay up to get mediafire to let it pass. Despite their saying, they haven't informed me of anything. It seems mediafire too is on the way down the drain.

Everything was reuploaded to SendSpace and 5 more game titles were added to reward you for waiting. Also Command & conquer & Quake series were added to section of stuff which doesn`t even need recommendations as it`s obvious that their music is mostly of supreme badassness (and quality).

Wait hold on did you say there could be hundreds of posts similar that last one!
Haha that's bananas :D
Frankly I didn't think there would be anyone who appreciates this stuff more than I do, but looks like there very well might be.

All in all the tracks you posted in that last big update make a pretty good impression and (as I often overuse the phrase) are "on topic". :)

Here are the main highlights for me:

*007 - Everything or nothing
2. 007 - Everything or nothing. SD.ogg
3. 007 - Everything or nothing. NA jazz
- These are totally appropriate tracks. Not bad at all. Must say the beginning of "SD" reminded of the beginning of NIN "The Prefect Drug". Heh.
The best part of "NA jazz" is when it fully develops closer to the end.

0 day - Attack on Earth
- As you said it has it's moments. An ok track to keep for the library.

*2 gonzo chumps, The
The 2 gonzo chumps. Butchery.ogg
The 2 gonzo chumps. Escape.ogg
-I really like the guitar work in "Butchery" and "Escape". "Chase" is good but sounds a little generic. I have to say it's a shame the ogg for "Escape" seems to be of a low quality, at least the beginning of it, really sounds like it's playing behind the neighbours' wall or something, but maybe it's intentional.

MechAssault
-All three "Snow battle" tracks have noticeable low bitrate and maybe because of that quality issue they don't really impress, but they do kinda sound all the same, but not bad overall.

*Amped 2
2. Amped2. Piehole.wma
- This "Piehole" is totally kick ass and gangsta in my book. Would def like to hear more from the same artist. "Heavens to Murgatroid" has good drive too, but Piehole all the way!

NeverDead
- I want to pint out "Sullivan" for being that kind of stuff that falls into a negative category for me. There's this particular type of rock genre that I don't like. It's when they just constantly slam drums and play guitar at some super sonic speeds and scream like psycho little girls... that heavy-death-rock-mumbo-jumbo stuff what ever they call it. Eh, I just don't like it, don't respect it as music to be exact. I probably over-criticize "Sullivan" because it reminds of that trash, but to me it's just very generic rock.
"Panda bear" for example is far from being masterpiece but much better.

ATV Quadro racing
- "2. ATV Quadro racing. 4" is not bad.

- - - -

Would be glad to check out Death race 2 but it's not accessible at the moment since it's on mediafire, maybe you could upload it to sendspace?
And as you mention Celldweller, I just want to say a big fat Hellz Yeah! haha
Known of his work for a couple of years now and it's one of my favorites. Switchback and Frozen just to name from the top of the head.
A couple of instrumental versions of his tracks were also used in Crackdown (X360).

- - -

And here are some tracks to keep the trend going. JBTND already knows of them, but maybe new to others:

Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom rip- 25 Boss 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx-Bp3xovzw&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLSAnqsdLsV35ZmZBemTzkfg)

Timesplitters 2 Music: Ice Station (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIUl0thIKO4&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLSAnqsdLsV35ZmZBemTzkfg)

PS: And I just want to add that "Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom rip- 26 Boss 2" had been one of my most favorite recent bad-ass tracks!

---------- Post added at 01:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:55 AM ----------

Oh and JBTND, if you would want to specify which tracks are in your opinion are "on topic" from that large list of franchises than I definitely wouldn't stop you.
Let me separate some of them that I am fairly familiar with and/or remember all the good tracks from, but as for others - it would be nice to be pointed to particular tracks if you have them in mind. And it will not make you look like Captain Obvious :)

Come to think of Sonic series, I have a couple of tracks in mind:

Shadow the hedgehog "I am all of me" music request - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VpYfMxIoR4)

And my personal favorite:

E.G.G.M.A.N. DOC. ROBEATNIX MIX (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H34JxbKDCYA)

You brought up Resident Evil Afterlife by Tomandandy and yes their work on the last two movies is great. I loved main theme "Tokyo" back in 2010, and this year they did not disappoint with "Flying Through the Air". I basically think that those were the only good moments in last 2 RE live action films: the slomo opening titles for Afterlife and Retribution as the music plays. But that's offtopic. Anyways I also own a disc for Retribution OST. Good shit.

An album I found out about today which quickly was added to "looking forward to" list:

MET 831 | AirMech - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/35733)

The score is by Canadian EBM/Industrial band Front Line Assembly. I believe last time they were involved in vgm is with Quake III for Dreamcast port.
