I was finally able to rip this LP at the library. However, it looks like my first botched attempt to rip it slightly damaged a couple of the tracks. :(
Well, lesson learned: Make sure the turntable actually works properly before ripping. Most of the tracks are fine though.

Someone requested a FLAC version, so I've uploaded it in FLAC format. Both MP3 and FLAC versions are zip files.
If anyone wants the original AUP files, let me know. Or, I also have the original recordings as two 20+ minute OGG files.

Enjoy! :)

I like it too, Manny. :) I actually first heard of it from an old promotional reel by some now-defunct company called "GaGa Communications." They never released anything, but they had a bunch of titles they wanted to bring to the US. Some of them, like The Humanoid, made it to the US through other companies. Nayuta, unfortunately, did not.

I actually translated the Portuguese subs I found for Nayuta into English back in March... mostly because I needed a distraction from the then-recent death of my first dog. So in a way, Nayuta helped me through a very difficult time in my life by giving me something to do.

Ive heard of GaGa communications. Too bad Scoopers never made it in the USA. I downloaded Scoopers from a torrent but with no fan subs.

I've heard that the guy who runs Anime Classic Reviews is very interested in subbing Scoopers sometime. :)

Thanks again Fokkusu (Downloadin g FLAC FTW:D)

I've taken the liberty to download the Nayuta OAV from youtube so I can watch it later (i hate watching stuff on the tube, except wrestling). But that looks like a pretty good anime. good, if a little old fashion chara design.

Well, it is based on a three-volume manga written in the early 80's. :D
I've been looking for a better quality file, like a laserdisc rip or something, but the only person I know of who has it on LD can't upload it right now because he's in the middle of moving. Maybe later though. :)

This is by Masamichi Amano?! Fascinating! His early stuff is a million miles away from what one expects. Not a bad transfer, not bad at all! Thank you!

I don't like to be picky, but you can't rip an LP. Rip = shift data from one storage medium to another.

Same goes for me. My knowledge as far as sound is concerned is how to copy a CD to FLAC or Mp3 and do a little sound editing with Audacity. I can do some DVD rips, but they aren't that good. As for ripping a LP, well, I'll put that on my ignorance. Let me phrase it better: I'll make a digital copy of my newly arrived vynils this WE :D

Better ?;)

Why not upload it in WAV format? :/

tangotreats
09-22-2011, 04:06 PM
Because a FLAC is half the size but quality is identical. Not everybody has unlimited downloads or mega-fast internet connections. Downloading 200mb of completely redundant data is problematic for the downloader, and equally an unreasonable request to make of the uploader. Who does it benefit? Nobody? Is there a sound quality benefit? No. Is there a compatibility benefit? No. Who does it inconvenience? Everybody.

If anybody wants it in any other format, they can download the FLAC and convert it to any other lossless codec themselves.

Frankly, the only reason one could want WAV is if one didn't have the vaguest understanding of digital audio technology - and, to put it bluntly, that sort of person should become educated rather than insist that the rest of the world pander to their lowest common denominator.

Please, Fokkusu (and all) listen to common sense and refuse all requests for WAV uploads... :)

Fokkusu
09-22-2011, 04:13 PM
Well, the FLAC format was converted from an OGG file, so maybe I can redo the FLAC files to make them truly lossless.

She will upload in WAV and you can convert yourself in FLAC

The WAV will be a benefict for those who want convert in any lossless codec at their preference

Maybe, but from a flac file it isn't too hard to decompress it to wav, then to recompress to the format of preference. I do it sometimes with APE files that I change that way to FLAC. And no loss of data either :D

I also recently saw The Laughing Target, and then Lily-C.A.T. with a friend. Oldschool anime horror marathon! X3

There's also another version from torrent: NT > Nayuta OST ?????????????????????? (1986) (http://www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=339450).
I thought both from here and there are the same, but now I see tracks' spectrums are absolutely other.
Spectrums from here reach higher kHz values but the ones from the torrent have thicker lower-dB values (theoretically better heard).
Scan-files are the same in both versions.

Btw. track-files from here are somehow corrupted - Foobar plays them but universal PotPlayer cannot until they are re-encoded, and Foobar says they have corrupted streams but converts them correctly.
