It's basically a 64kbps version of what has already been posted here:

I had no idea anyone else had uploaded the score, I just wanted to share something I had with the boards.

May i also just suggest that since all of this is FREE music, freely shared, that the definition "unacceptable" be rethought? Now, were you paying for the score, or paying to be part of the site, then sure.

i guess it all depends on the availability or scarcity of a score. if there's no choice but a mere low bit rate samples available i'm sure i will still sell for a free DL. but if a particular sample like in this case which is of course available in a higher bit rate, then that would really render this upload pointless and unless you didn't know that there is in fact a better version here floating around then it's all in good faith & sharing is cool with me. thanks for that effort then :)

Well, the higher bit rate version is only 128-192. And, as an example, the Gargoyles promo I have is 63k, but folks were fine with that share, as the music was not available anywhere else, in any format. The most the op is wrong about is MAYBE not searching first. And we all know well about this site's search function.

I am not encouraging any posting. I am saying there is no official standard set. I know other sites do, but this one does not. If it is not personally apealing, just don't dl. In my opinion. Some forget, but the first coupla times sharing are...meh, intimidating. It's a learning curve. Very harsh feedback can discourage folks from trying again.

Also, in the open forum I do pretty much prefer my user name, please.

i agree, instead of being mean there are ways to say it in a more cordial manner or better yet there's always the simpler way to do it & that's to simply "ignore" the post/thread.

Mm. All I am suggesting is that it be a personal decision to dl. When I started this, I knew nothing about bit rates and stuff. It is a learning curve. He's been a member since 09, I see. But he has all of 6 posts....

Mean? that's what you got from what I wrote? Wow. If either of you actually read what I wrote, you'll see that I encouraged him to post, but gave him a heads up that most people are not going to download a file of that quality. That's it. How will a newbie learn if people don't gently point it out? The last thing I want to do is discourage people from sharing, or make them feel bad for having done so : "But like sweetmeats said, thanks for trying and don't feel bad about it. " Might I suggest that you're being overly sensitive about a relatively well meaning comment?

hey i wasn't talking about you as i was talking in general, i read your comment & i got your point. it's not directed at you just to be clear..

Ok. But that is not entirely my point. Whether or not anyone dl's his file is not the point. We can advise all we want, but there is NO requirements to posting here. He can post 28k, if he wants. It's not against the site rules. So, in a sense, there is nothing for him to "learn" per se. Like I mentioned, a lot of what i am after right now only exists in low bit rates, if at all. You never know, there may be someone out there grateful for any score poste. Remember, there are other members here aside from the "collecters", to whom the quality is not as important. It just depends on the person, which was my point. Looking at the size of the file, many of us will pass. Sure. But, ya never know, and he is within his rights to post. that's all I am saying. It is not a matter of encouraging of garbage, just pointing out there is no rule against it on this site is all. :)
