I was just checking to see if anyone out there can get the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Complete score with NO SFX

No such animal exists. It is a much sought after animal, but alas seems to live only in picture books.

I dont get why someone cant just make a dvd/blu ray rip of this, seriously i mean every other movie gets expanded and complete scores usually before the damn films even released on home media and yet a movie thats been out for two years and has a score which is highly saught after by pretty much everyone who likes Steves Music cant be. I just downloaded a blu ray rip of X-Men First Class complete score (which is awesome by the way - music and film) and thats not even out yet! So why cant the same be done for Transformers 2? Call me ignorant to the ways dvd rips are done and your right as i have no idea how to rip a score, but im just saying if it can be done for most things and considering this is highly desired im suprised why no one has done it yet?

I will have to call you ignorant. You have no idea how difficult it is to do a rip of Transformers 2. Have you seen the movie? Are you aware of how many gun shots and explosions and other highly intrusive SFX there are? DVDs are structured in a way that audio can be extracted. On how DVD audio extracting and editing works, be sure to check out this thread: Thread 84885

The only reason it worked so well for X-Men is because that was an isolated score--meaning the score plays in-line with the movie, I think, without the intrusion of dialogue and SFX. This is a very rare occurrence, as they are basically saying, "Hey, here's the movie on Blu-Ray high-def, and we might as well give you the complete score to the movie, seeing as it was not previously available!"

I started work on a DVD rip for Transformers 2 but have mostly given up on it--not only because I have much less time to work on stuff (due to school) and more important scores to edit, but also because I documented something like 75 cues present for the entire movie, and only around 10 of them are on the OST. To make an expanded film-arranged version of the score based off the OST, it would be easier to say what wasn't used in the film.

And having absolutely no outside material, apart from three tracks posted by Magic Box Music, and DVD audio cluttered with non-removable SFX up the ass, I can say, with relative ease, this is the most difficult score I've ever worked on, and unless someone invents a way to actually remove SFX embedded in DVD audio, not many people could be capable of doing a better edit than I. It is nearly a better choice to sit around and wait for the real deal to surface than to make a DVD rip of this score.

Yeah like i said i am ignorant to the ways of the dvdrips, not out of disinterest ive just never known how to do it or what to use. But that was exactly the kind of reply i was hoping for as it gave me a great insight into how difficult it seems to be. Yeah i realise that the SFX are hard to remove as many dvdrips do not usually completely remove them, but i didnt know it was that difficult. Plus i didnt know what the isolated score meant but it seems a lot easier if they do that, so heres hoping they do that for Dark of the Moon. As much as i really desperately want the Revenge of the Fallen score, theres one key piece of music in particular from one small scene i want which i may try to do after i learn how to do it, heres hoping anyway lol.

A key piece of music, you say? From one small scene, you say? Perhaps you could describe the scene to me, and I'll see if I've worked on that cue. It would be no trouble for me to upload it. It's the SFX that would likely be in it that would be the trouble--unless its the scene early on where Optimus Prime jumps out the back of the plane for that highway chase. That cue is fairly clean. There are a few other nifty short cues that mostly clean, as well.

09-06-2011, 02:25 AM
Wow really cheers mate that would actually be really appreciated. Its the scene about middle of the film after Optimus has been killed and they drop his body off at the military base, the music starts of nice and mellow with the optimus theme and then turns more sinister when the army trucks drive in and circle the autobots. Dunno why but that piece of music has always been really catchy to me, there are a few others i can think off but they are all in the midst of heavy action, but the only sfx i can think of with that one will be the trucks driving, and the autobots weaponry revving up. Would be great to have that if you can, thank you.

It's "The Real Deal": MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OS0ECRTP)

No, seriously, that's what I named the cue. The intro of the track is the intro to Prime, the first track on the score, and then it fades to something that resembles a portion of the Optimus track from the first movie, I think. And the rest of the cue is a new composition, as far as I can tell.

justin102

The scene is when Optimus saves Sam and the scene goes on until Optimus gets killed by Megatron

Okay, I am fairly certain you are talking about a segment that corresponds to at least three cues, none of which are the one I just uploaded. I'm almost positive I got the right track for Frank, but I'll wait for his his response.

I suppose I could upload a few more tracks. I just don't want to inadvertently upload my whole score before I'm finished with it, lol!

That is an awfully long list of cues--not to mention you've placed them all in quotes as though they are the official names. Some of those descriptions I recognize--others I don't. It's due to the fact that during certain stretches of the film, I have absolutely no idea what is going on, and thus the tracks were really hard to name. So, instead, I'll just post this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YDJUANSA

It's a pack of very early edits that I sent to someone else on the Shrine (who was eager to hear TF2 music) 17 days from a year ago today. I don't know how many tracks are in there, but I do know this: most, if not all, of them are first drafts, so they are a bit rough and also it was before I understood sample rate, so they have varying sample rates (but not bit rates).

Thanks for figuring that out! When I first ran across the track I couldn't for the life of me figure out where on the score it belonged--due to the fact that I have some 70-odd tracks to sort through.

Firstly yes i do know the score extremely well, which is due to the fact that ive seen the movie a million times and know the film probably better than Michael Bay himself! When it come to Transformers i can pretty much identify almost any piece and know exactly where in the film it fits.

Secondly no the seperate track wasnt in your original folder. There was a notepad doc which contained a list of all 78 tracks you had divided the score into, and were 35 tracks in the file, so the list Kalel had posted included some of the ones not present. Hope this helps.

Ive made a list of track names for the whole film using all currently available tracks lists including your own, using some titles from both and making some slight changes to others, these of course are not definite names but merely the best i could come up with at the time.

As you can see i shortened you list slightly as there was a few gaps which either had no music in the scene or not enough for a seperate track. This is the best i could do by merely going by other track names as despite my knowledge of the film i would have to actually hear the tracks to know exactly where to put them and name them accordinly.

I'm not sure how you could come up with a different track list than mine, using mine, considering I had a complete track list. There may have been like two tracks that actually contain more than one cue, but almost all tracks contain only one cue. It looks more like you just renamed some of my tracks.

Besides, that track list that Snakes posted complete with cue and reel numbers as well as track lengths looks to be a legitimate track list. Snakes, himself, doesn't have the music, and neither does the guy he got it from. Read the HZ forum on this score for more info.

Kalel why dont you just ask him for the whole dam score lol, be a lot easier than writing out every track! His already said its to difficult to make all the muisc due to the heavy SFX and dialogue to remove, the folder he posted was an older bunch he did a while ago which was a prototype so to speak. Be greatful for the music we have got, and hope something may come out or be leaked eventually to complete the list.

What did you quote yourself for? The descriptions were not necessary...Remember: I had to sort through the music once myself. I know very well what tracks go to which scenes; remember: I am the one who has done all the editing. I had to sort through the DVD audio at point, and with so many short cues being played I didn't have time to come up with names for a lot of them on the spot, so I just made descriptions, and came up with names later on. I've found that documenting all the cues before getting started helps a lot.

For some reason, everyone keeps quoting an incomplete track list with unlabeled tracks, which I swear to God I never posted. Here's a better complete list (weirdly, track 22 is still unnamed in this notepad document and there is not a part II to correspond with track 30):

I already said in a PM that I don't plan on uploading anything else. It is one the works I am least proud of and I don't care if everyone else is alright with "Oh, I'll just extract this audio, format it into tracks and call it day," because I am certainly not okay with that. Unless some way comes along to technologically remove SFX, a better bet is on when the real deal will show up.

Besides, that track list that Snakes posted complete with cue and reel numbers as well as track lengths looks to be a legitimate track list. Snakes, himself, doesn't have the music, and neither does the guy he got it from. Read the HZ forum on this score for more info.

Whats the HZ Forum by the way?
