I've been seeing these Red Book Audio type uploads lately. Exactly what is Red Book Audio & what's the diff between that and a game rip/OST?

I've been seeing these Red Book Audio type uploads lately. Exactly what is Red Book Audio & what's the diff between that and a game rip/OST? redbook is the audio of cd like when you buy a cd the tracks of music some games use redbook audio track for there music. So if your game uses redbook audio u can play it back on any car or cd player.

R u saying u can put in a game disc into a cd player, car or cpu & listen to the music aka in game soundtrack?!! thats something i never heard of nor did i think it was possible. is there anyway of knowing whether your game uses it or not without having to put in the disc in a cd player?

Red Book is one of the standards that describe how informations are stored on a Compact Discs. There are also Yellow Book, Green Book, Orange Book...each one contains technical specifications for CD format, you have a description here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Books).
Red Book defines technical specifications for audio CD.
Some games used Red Book audio and you can effectively play them on CD player but it's now outdated as modern games uses compressed audio format (ogg, mp3, xma, adx...).
EmteCoke thanks for all the share.
