So while I wait for my tax return money to land in my bank account so I can buy a new PC, I decided to help pass the time by starting a new game of FFIX (playing PSX version on PC) and because it had been sooooo long since I last played it, I actually had forgotten just how amazing it was.

When I played it years ago (when it was released) I didn't think all too much of it, thinking it was below average when compared to FFVI, VII, and VIII. But as I play through I seem to be enjoying it more and more, and can now say that it is better than VIII was.

I only started playing yesterday, and am currently up to Burmecia at the end of disc one (just after Gizamaluke's Grotto) and can't wait to play more...!

What are your thoughts on FFIX? Do you feel it is under-appreciated? What did you like or dislike about the game?

FFIX was actually the first Final Fantasy game I ever played, didn't know anything about the series at all at the time I got it (as a present). What I noticed from the get go is how immersed I became, it was the first time I'd played a game but not felt like I was playing a game, instead I was part of the story.

loved the characters, loved the story, loved the game play, pretty much loved everything about it.

Getting to the end of disc one in a day is impressive, I remember having days like that, playing for hours on end, good times.

I doubt any game will ever make me feel the same way although FFX was close.

As for being underated? In the main stream definately.

FFIX Update: On disc 2. Went to Dr Tot in Treno, rode the gargant in Gargan Roo, witnessed Cleyra be destroyed and fought Beatrix at least four times before she finally came to her senses! At Pinnacle Rocks at the moment after rescuing Garnet from execution....SO MUCH DRAMA! >_> Awesome game is awesome <3

I have to say FF IX is probably my favourite game ever, I've played it so many times I lost count already. The part when Cleyra is destroyed is just amazing (not because of the fact that Cleyra was destroyed lol). And Beatrix makes such an amazing character with sooo little time. I hope you keep enjoying this game as it is absolutely awesome.
