I saw on some site a while back a complete score for James Horner's Casper. I love this music, and there must be more than what's on the OST. I don't know if a complete actually exists, but I would love to have it if anyone can share. Here's what I've come across on BMI:

yes, it is an DVD isolated score, made in 2003 by " Joe Mann G. Records". It's been a long time, but i think it's from spain ...

I know I shouldn't (by commenting here) bump a thread that doesn't actually contain anything. But it just dawned on me to search for any extra Casper stuff, found this, and have to agree with you DAK, it's a fantastic score. The piano and all the softer themes are gorgeous, and all the other stuff is great fun, too ;)

I still to this day have found nothing.

The vast majority of the unreleased music for the film consists of Horner's arrangements of the "Casper The Friendly Ghost" song integrated into the score. That's why you never hear it on the album aside from the Little Richard performance. I suspect that it's because added royalties would've made it too expensive to include those cues on the album, and the album better showcased Horner's own themes for the characters.

There are other unreleased cues not related to the song arrangement as well. I have a top 5 list of Horner scores I'd love to get in complete form, and Casper is just after it at number 6. Truly gorgeous, adventurous and funny score.

It goes like this:

Sneakers is another great, underrated Horner score. I've never gone back and compared the movie to the score--is there any good stuff missing from that regular release?

Sneakers is beautiful. It's a short release so I'd bet on it. A LOT of earlier releases for many, if not most, composers are gutted. There are about 40 some odd minutes missing from A Perfect Storm, and even a few tracks missing from the Apollo 13 academy promo. None of hist list is really a very good representation of the score as a whole. Well Storm and 13. Braveheart Complete keeps getting posted, but these are all rips or fakes, correct JH?

I'd like a longer release for both Something Wicked, and Battle Beyond the Stars. I have extended boots for both, but sound is crap. There are some nice tracks still unreleased though. And of course many to yet get released. I'd like Volunteers.....

I did a rip of the 5.1 track from an HD-DVD download. Some of it was fairly clean, some of it...not so much. I'll find the tracks I ripped and upload it to give you all an idea of what's missing.

Mostly it's a lot of quiet piano-based music, but there's a few great action / suspense cues in there as well. The original CD could easily be fleshed out with the unreleased stuff and be a great listen.

Indeed, all Braveheart 'complete' versions are DVD ripped or edited fakes like Titanic. Volunteers was thought to have been lost but it turns out it wasn't. The problem is there's a big mystery for some reason about who actually owns the rights to the score and without that they (Intrada, who's been trying for years to release it) can't put it out.

Just remember it's full of sound effects so it's not the best listen, but it does give a good idea of the missing material that could be released some day. The quality is too poor to tack on to the existing album because of the effects and whatnot. The HD-DVD was in 5.1 while the DVD is just stereo.

Thanks for posting the regular Casper soundtrack (Thread 128326), Lockdown. After this back & forth I wanted to rip my disc and add to one of those older threads, but I've been pretty busy lately. Thanks to you, more folks can enjoy it. And thanks for all your recent shares :)

Those were always my favorite cues in the movie, especially the main title cue.

I would love to get more music from Casper too. It's a great score.
