All right. I'm trying to get the Mini Prima Vista. I followed the guide and got Morrid the three coffees that he wanted and went and delivered them to him during the return to Treno part on Disc 3. Now, everything I read says that if you gave him the coffees, then when you first return to Lindblum on Disc 3, if you go to the Tantalus hideout and search around the area of the bed, then you should be able to get the Mini Prima Vista. Well, I went there and I searched there and couldn't find it. In fact, I searched the entire place inside out and couldn't find it anywhere. This ever happen to anyone here? Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to go back and talk to him again? I gave him the stinkin' coffees!

I thought he gave you the Mini Prima Vista when you gave him the coffees but it doesnt show up in your items list or something like that. Been a while.

According to everything I've found, it's supposed to be waiting in the Tantalus hideout if you give him the coffees...

Oh yeah thats right, he delivers the item to the hideout. It should be there somwhere :)

(realizes that was no help)

However do read this

Problem Getting Mini-Prima Vista:
--------------------------------
Many gamers have e-mailed me and asked me how to get the Mini-Prima
Vista model ship. They found the Tantalus hideout in Lindblum and
saw the Mini-Prima Vista model ship. The problem is they can't seem
to reach the Mini-Prima Vista model ship and get it.

According to Tim <[email protected]>, even though you can't
pick up the Mini-Prima Vista model ship at Tantalus Hideout in
Lindblum, the Mini-Prima Vista is being counted in your Treasure
Hunting Ranking. However, it's not shown in the key item menu.

I hope the mystery of Mini-Prima Vista is finally solved. [But
then, I have a feeling that I will have to update the information
about Mini-Prima Vista one more time. I am sure I am going to
get lots of e-mails on this.] I posted several messages regarding
Mini-Prima Vista at gamefaqs message boards. Not much overwhelming
responses but saw some answers in the board. However, it was
Tim <[email protected]> who e-mail me first so credit goes
to him.

got that from this site

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/final_fantasy_ix_na_d_2_2.txt

so maybe that helped more.

Ah ha! That makes sense. Because I thought I saw something there that looked like a ship, but I wasn't getting a field "!" icon to pick it up. As long as it's being counted though, I guess it's okay. Thanks.

I have heard of the Prima Vista problem before and that it still counts for rankings, but I've picked it up from Tantalus' hideout, is the problem specific to certain versions ?

Hmm, that's an interesting question. I'm playing the United States version. You too?

I don't know whether it makes a difference or not. Sometimes there are things in one version that aren't in another version and vice versa. For example, there's a trick in the Japanese version of FFX that you can use to get a perfect time on the chocobo race, yet it isn't in the US version.

There's another one too that I've read about. Apparently some people have (or at least claim to have) gotten a gold chocobo before getting the airship. Now, normally, if the game is working properly, you can't do that because the two remaining Chocograph pieces simply won't be available until you get the airship. That seems to be the case for me because I tried. Yet some people claim that they have done it and had strange bugs, like the Blue Narciss transforming into the Hilda Garde III and the game just inexplicably skipping past a whole bunch of the storyline.

Edited to add:

I have noticed at least one spelling error in the game. Sometimes, Lindblum is called "Lindblum" and yet at other times, it's unexplainedly spelled as "Lindbulm."

*is a ditz*

on the first visit to Lindblum, during the Festival, I picked up a Mini Burmecia in the Tantalus hideout, not the Mini Prima Vista . Silly me XP !

I'm playing the European version.

If you look at the map you see if you put disc 1 in and don't play your game, that his Lindblum spelt as Lindbulm, and I think a couple of the other places are spelt differently too... that's the only time I remember it not being spelt as Lindblum, or maybe it was on another map too, but during the game it's always spelt Lindblum...

The Mini Prima Vista is by the ladder in Tantalus's hideout. You can't get it, but you can see the ship by the ladder. Remember when you're in Morrid's place, you saw the key item on display. When Morrid delivers it to you, you can see the ship on display by the ladder. You can't pick it up.
