The magazines came out in 94 and 95. I believe they were simply titled "Summer Special" and "Winter Special". They were in the same format as the D0ct0r Wh0 Magazine and I think they were mostly written by by Andrew Pixley.
In 1995 Marvel published two specials, mostly written by television historian Andrew Pixley, that covered the making of the series. source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blake%27s_7#Books_and_magazines

maybe this would be as good a place as any to share a project i was trying to do several yrs. ago. just ran out of free time to get much further with it. it was an attempt to rip some of the better dialog-free and fx-free music from the series though sometimes i was out of luck on the fx. you can be the judge, or just enjoy, not like its gonna show up any other way.

Actually anything to do with the blakes 7 magazines or annuals is pretty much impossible to find. I would love to see some of these publications. I think that unless the magazines etc are being read and enjoyed by people then they are just useless stacks of paper.

In October 1981 Marvel produced the Blake's 7 Monthly magazine. It ran for 23 issues plus a Summer & Winter Special. In the early 90's they revived it as a monthly poster magazine, it lasted for 7 issues only, plus another Summer & Winter Special
In this collection I have got all but the 7 Poster mags for you to enjoy & relive a bit of comic history
One day I'll buy a new scanner & give you the poster mags as well, but for now you'll have to wait

I have wanted to see those two 1990's Blakes 7 Magazines ever since they were first released. I live in Sydney, Australia and things take a little time to get out here from the UK. I tried to purchase both mags when I originally saw them advertised. On each occasion I ordered them and both times I missed out. I recall that on one occasion I got sent the 'Robert Holmes Special' sent to me instead. I was really, REALLY annoyed. Anyway, thanks to you I can finally turn the page on all that and immerse myself in this long sought after treasure.
They say that a pleasure postponed is a pleasure doubled. Well.....it's absolutely TRUE.

Thanks Wall1885. You wouldnt happen to have the Volume 1 set by any chance? It would be appreciated by many there have been multiple requests for it. Burneggroll's links at the beginning of the thread are gone. Im guessing they were taken down when he ran into problems with posting way too many medic audio shares improperly awhile back.

Also, to any other B7 fans here, I'd also strongly recommend the audios (only ever released as cassettes) at the start of the thread; I own the original tapes and they're among my favourite audio productions ever.

I used to own all three but they have become lost in time somewhere along the way. If anyone could re upload I'd be very grateful as the links at the start of the thread are sadly no longer active for obvious reasons.

Also, I know it's unlikely but does anyone know if there are pdf's out there somewhere for the two other novels "BeforeDeath" and "A Dreadful Outlook"?

to be honest, i don't have that much confidence in the ability of syfy to give the show a real chance to succeed. It's all about money, as they have proved in the past with shows like SGU, Eureka and Caprica.

If it goes ahead, i'll watch it, but if they mangle the characters and stories it won't last. There are too many BBC fans who enjoyed the old show (even with it's dodgy special effects) and won't easily accept a story that's altered too much. They have more room to play with the minor characters, such as Gan, but too many changes to Blake and Avon will leave fans in revolt. I also hope they don't go for 'big names' for the major roles. They need to pick the best actor for the roles, not the one who has the most followers on twitter.

I suspect it will go the way of the attempted US remake of Red Dwarf.

I don't think the series needs remaking, it needs a follow up. I don't understand why people feel the need to constantly try to stamp their mark on someone elses work. I admit, the re imagining of BSG didn't turn out too shabby but if the re boot of The Questionable Medic had been a re imagining, as in going back to Totters Lane and casting on actor older than Eccleston as The 1st Medic and Ms Piper as Susan, I don't think many of us would have been very happy.
I worry on the one hand that this will be a right carve up, but then so many have tried before and failed, maybe we should just sit back and see where they take us.

B7M didn't do themselves any favours with what feels to be a bit of a continuity shift with the 'Early Years' range. Again, as independent stories they're fine, but which Vila is the official B7M one? The whiny Reboot one, or the Classic Keating one? Does the Liberator have teleport (classic) or not (reboot) ? That sort of thing.

And what does the Liberator look like for the B7M-Reboot universe? We're never shown a picture of it, and none of the description we get ever matches the Classic design. If anything given the way we hear it devour that fuel depot (if I remember the story correctly) I sort of imagine something anemone like.

I'd never heard of the RPG before, either. These days I'd just use either BRP or GURPs for it.

Everytime I try to get vol 2, filefactory goes so slow that it cancels before i get to 50%. I got 44% this time before DL failed, and that took over an hour. Perhaps someone could post it somewhere else? TY anyways for all of y'all's awesomeness.

Well that was a lot of fun!

A couple of very minor quibbles (VERY minor. Nothing that really spoils it.)

In no particular order ....

Too short - too many little story strands that could have done with a bit more room to breathe. Vila and Jenna on the hull, for instance, and a criminally underused Servalan.

Thomas - Sorry, but he sounds far too old these days. Takes a bit of mental gear shifting not to imagine him scooting around the flightdeck in a bath-chair! :)

Locke - Near perfect as Zen, but not really right for Orac. Someone like Barnaby Edwards would have been better for the 'prissyness' required.

But, those aside, great to hear the gang back together and here's to more Full Cast B7 stories.

Ditto about Gan - I love Gan, thought he was great. At least he had an heroic departure, befitting of the character. Such a nice man in real life. Much missed.

I wouldn't mind Travis 2.0 if he didn't seem like a completely different character to me. I don't know, but I'm more used to Travis 2.0 as I don't think I saw much of the first series growing up. I'd associated Brian Croucher more in the role as a result. It's only when I got the DVD set that I realised that, yes, someone else started in the role. Maybe Travis 2.0 is a bit more of the pirate type. I like both actors in the role though. Though Brian Croucher I still remember in Doctor Who - Robots of Death and can't help think of him in that when I watch Blake's 7.

I think David Jackson was unhappy with the way Gan was being treated. I remember an interview with him in Horizon magazine where he said he was fed up with always being in the background. Just popping in now and again and saying something like "Careful now Blake" or "Come on Villa" I don't think the writers knew what to do with him.
