I posted this thread to see what most people like about Final Fantasy games. I personally like the storyline the most in FF games.

I voted for the storyline option even though sometimes the FF games have bad plots I'm still happy with them either way.

I'm a sucker for the storyline so it gets my vote.

Never really cared about the graphic's really...Although, they are very good :)

The gameplay is strange for me...Never really cared for it...I look at it as a standard battle system. The game's innovations is what make it interesting I guess.

Anyways, that what I think...

I vote for storyline as well. Its the main reason i play FF games, and so far i haven't come across any other RPG that can get the right mix of plot twists and emotion that the FF series has.

It's definitely first and foremost about the storyline. I think that's why I ended up liking RPGs over other types of games these days. Originally, when I played FF7, I really didn't like RPGs. Why? They were long and tedius...

But then when I picked up FF9 a few years later... I realized just how powerful a storyline in a game can be. I found that I could think more deeply about the characters and philosophies of THIS game than I could others. And then I went back and played FF7. And I realized just what I missed out on.

Definitely the storyline. :)

The graphics, gameplay, and music are all definitely part of it, too. Maybe just as much so for me. Heh-heh.

It's the storyline that grips me for a game... If it's as dull as hell, then I don't normally play through. The only Final Fantasy with a below average storyline, that I've played so far, is Final Fantasy V. Part of my trouble with going back to play that game is that I can't actually remember much of the details of the plot after six months away from playing it. If the plot had been more addictive, then I may have stuck to it (like with Final Fantasy VI, VII, even VIII had a reasonable plot.)

Meh, that's just me.

I have to differ from the norm here and say... the storyline.

But wait, there's more!

It's not just that Final Fantasy has such a deep and involving storyline - it's the positive message that every game has. Too much media these days focuses on tragedy - but the stories everyone remembers, to quote Sam Gamgee, are

"Where the people had plenty of oppurtunities to turn back, Mr Frodo, but they didn't. They're the stories everyone remembers."

...the raw human emotion of Final Fantasy, the pureness of the love behind it, and the courage of saving the world...

That's what draws me in.

Storyline.

I love the FF stories, better than the movies, the best FFs are the ones with the best stories.

Im also a graphics lover. I always anticipate the FMVs, i love em.

Like everyone else I voted for the story. I like my FF games to have many twist and turns, a good plot and story is the essential key to any good video game I feel. Graphics to me don't play a huge roll in making me like or hate a game, so the story has to come first.
