Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Croc 2 are part of my fondest gaming memories, and their soundtracks are also some of my all-time favorites. From my perspective, there has been a shortage of "proper" releases of these soundtracks for some time, which is why I have decided to upload one myself.

Basically, the problem is this: There has never been an official release, so game rips are (to my knowledge) the best option. Then, most rips I have found on the web have been in a rather low audio quality, and on top of that, very few have been tagged with some effort.

The music on the game discs are organized in "packs" of 7-8 tracks (in order of track size), and lack official titles. I have, however, attempted to name them.
For Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, naming all the tracks is difficult as a great deal of them are scattered around the game and used in several levels. Because of this, most titles I have given them are somewhat generic, although still more specific than "Pack X - Track Y" which is usually the norm in rips of this game.
For Croc 2, the titles are generally a little more specific, due to some more distinct levels. For these I used a combination of my own memories of the game and the video uploads of YouTube user hotchoc26 (http://www.youtube.com/user/hotchoc26). For both games, I welcome corrections, as my goal is to provide the most correct/complete release of this to date.

In addition to title, artist and image tags, I have tagged the files with track numbers according to a relatively loose grouping system so that most music from a single world is placed in succession. The specific order is incorrect, but it provides a better overview compared to the default ordering by pack and track. The file names themselves are still of the format "Pack X - Track Y" to preserve the possibility of viewing/restoring the original order. Because of this, if you dislike the titles in the tags or the file names, the preferred format can be applied to both by using the "file name to tag" or "tag to file name" features commonly found in tag editors such as ID3-TagIT.

The rip of the first game is not mine, but sadly I can't remember where I got it from (a thank you goes out to whoever made it). Every track in the original rip had a silent section of up to some 10 seconds at the end, which I have trimmed away (in a lossless way, naturally). The rip of Croc 2 is my own. Both rips are from the PlayStation versions, and as such contain the most complete collection of music. Both rips are 320k MP3 with ID3v2.3 tags.

I do realize I might have gone overboard with the information, but it's there for those who want to read it, which on second thought is probably no one.

Update 2011-07-03: I have improved some of the title tags for the Croc 2 rip based on titles found in the rip here (Thread 91808), which appeared a few days after this post was originally made. The Croc 2 tagging should now be near 100% correct/complete.
Update 2012-06-26: Links were dead, have now been reuploaded.

I'm reuploading them now. They should be ready within half an hour. I'll update the links in the OP when they are.

Can you possibly rename the archive files? The way they're named, I can't unzip them.

Not sure what I should rename them to. I split them into 2 volumes each to get past the Mediafire limitation of 200 MB. I know 7-zip should be able to unzip them.

When I download them, it saves it as a .001 or .002 file for some reason. Try naming them "Croc - Legend of the Gobbos Part 1.zip" and so on. Just my suggestion. I use WinRAR to unzip my files, in case you were wondering.

They are named .001 and .002 because that's what 7-zip outputs when splitting volumes. Try using 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) instead. :)

Oh, THAT'S why. I've never used 7-zip before (it's always been WinRAR). Okay, I'll give it a shot!!
