I see you made it in FLAC only...I am more of a MP3 guy myself to be honest. Can we expect an MP3 version of it or shall i just download this and convert it to MP3 myself?

I'm not uploading an MP3 version of this. Getting this one uploaded was a pest, MediaFire kept rejecting the upload of Part 5... so I used another mirror site...

And when i used LAME to convert the WAV files to MP3, some of the frequencies went form 48kHZ to 44.1kHz and a weird noise kept coming in all the songs...
So if you're using dbPoweramp, convert to MP3 at 320kbps/48kHZ with the HELIX converter...

I'm currently listening to this... Truly an outstanding job! I'll have a MP3 V0 VBR version of this soon, if the author doesn't mind (LAME3.98.2, frequencies as the ones of the original FLACs).

That would be great thanks! I am still in progress of installing programs on this new pc, after the old 1 burned down, so I see I still didnt downloaded a FLAC to MP3 converter yet...

Some tracks are 44.1KHz, others are 48.0KHz.... exactly as the FLAC files you made. I've set up the foobar2000 converter in order to keep the original audio frequency.

@Firebolt: I'd like to give rep points! But I never did so I don't know how.

What about chances of the dialogue that is heard when you die. They're very well done & deserve to be a part of the OST if it's possible. If it is, please separate them. Example: Track whatever the number is. Scare Crow: And At The End Of Fear, Oblivion. Next, track whatever it is. Scare Crow: You Failed. Now Suffer. My personal favorite is the Scare Crow quotes. But The Joker's are good too. And ultimately, so is everyone else's.

For anyone who downloads/will download this:

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this. But I had a problem extracting this. The first time I encountered this, I deleted it & redownloaded everything. This is the problem:

PART 5 was the problem. Durting extraction, Win Rar asked for Batman Arkham Asylum OST [FLAC] (2009).part5. The reason this problem occured is because parts 1-4 & 6 are titled as Batman Arkham Asylum OST [FLAC] (2009).part while PART 5 is titled I think as Batman_ Arkham_Asylum_OST_[FLAC]_(2009).part5 or something like that. If you encounter this, all you have to do is re-title PART 5 as Batman Arkham Asylum OST [FLAC] (2009).part5 and hopefully it will work for you as it did for me.

Thanks a lot guys... yeah, we need an iTunes exclusive $10 release like they did with the revised POP Trilogy this year! They got new unreleased stuff from the Two Thrones on it!

No, I doubt they'll put any music on the Collector's Edition of Arkham City... usually these guys' music are licensed, so they can't sell it off... :(

"The "Death Quotes" could make the next release along with the Joker DLC music... I don't know..."

most definitely feel/believe they belong. i think others who have played the game and/or downloaded any Arkham OST that is on this site will agree with me that they belong....if for no other reason than because they are a part of the main game & it would not feel like a "complete" score or complete game rip if something.....especially something from the main game was cut out. in the event that u tried & couldn't get it is, that's something else. but if left out intentionally....it wouldn't feel complete. every complete gamerip i've seen and/or downloaded on this site includes the death part whether it's a quote or a tune that plays when u die and Arkham just shouldn't be an exception IMO. I'm not telling u to include them. I'm just stating my opinion on the "Death Quotes" subject.

I'm guessing by stingers you're referring to the Death Quotes? Hopefully they're up in FLAC at some point. You deserve a break from it though.

btw, I like your use of the word, stinger. Reminds of THE ICON, STING!!!!

While listening to this OST, I had vivid images of an Arkham Asylum movie. On one hand, it'd be pretty cool. On the other hand, films based on video games aren't so successful most of the time. However if the brainchild of Harley Quinn & the Heart Of Ice episode, Paul Dini, who also was involved in the making of Asylum was involved, perhaps it will be good. I don't expect Mark Hamill to voice Joker as AC is his last time sadly but also understandable. I'd like Kevin Conroy to voice Batman. It's what he's known & born for. An animated version would be most welcome to me with CGI effects used if & when necessary. And these vivid images have inspired me to write a script as if I were making the movie. I write scripts often for fun. They've gotten good reviews too.

Sting needs to retire now... LOL

Stingers are short pieces of music that last for a few seconds like a message tone...
And an Arkham movie would be great...

"Sting needs to retire now... LOL"

LOL you're joking!! If anyone needs to retire, it's Flair! Sting, despite being above 50, can still go & is in great shape for his age. Even Hogan praised Sting on Twitter regarding the recent Impact taping. Now, I don't like what Hogan did in WCW & is doing in TNA but the guy's a HOFer and a legend. He put wrestling on the map & brought it where it is today.....to the mainstream so for Sting to get a compliment from a guy like Hogan says a lot about Sting. btw, it's comments like that that keep wrestlers from listening to the people on the internet & honestly, I can't blame them. I wouldn't listen either cause it's always this guy needs to be pushed, this guy needs to go, this guy needs to retire, etc....as if anyone on the net has laced up a pair & mixed it up in the ring before lol.

It is probably the timing thing, people are not very interested in this complete score right now, but when Arkham City will get close to its release date or right after, then everyone will be looking back at Arkham Asylum's soundtrack, re-listening and comparing it to a new one.

Rep up for efforts, though honestly I never even listened to the whole thing and never actually finished the game :P

@MiL: thats a good point. they'll likely compare but may also like them both. i also if this rip was done shortly after Arkham's release rather than now, it'd be given the attention Firebolt expected. I mean Arkham was released in 2010 & now it's 2011.....people have beat it & are anticipating Arkham City so unfortunately, people are looking past this game so you're correct in saying its the timing.

@OJ: everyone who downloads is a leech is some way, shape or form. you're no exception.

Actually, Asylum came out in August 2009. So 2 years gap, so it's likely my timing is bad. And as far as the "death quotes" are concerned, i think someone made ringtones out of them on the official Eidos Batman AA thread...

I wonder why I never saw that result come up on google when I looked up Arkham Death Quotes.

I'll google again. But if you find or come across the page the quotes are on, can you send me the link if you don't mind? I'd appreciate it. @Firebolt: You already did this so I'd like to ask you for an instruction guideline detailing as much as possible each & every step u took in making your Arkham OST what it is today......but pertaining to The Death Quotes.....not the actual game. Now, since the Death Quotes don't feature any music & to my knowledge, not any SFX either.....just dialogue, I'm gonna guess that ripping these will be easier than what u did. I want the Death Quotes to be the EXACT quality of whatever THE BEST track or tracks is on your Arkham Asylum OST, not a pinch below.

Also, the list of materials/supplies I'll need would help. But also give descriptions of them as if you were asking someone to buy them for you.....they would need to know EXACTLY what you'd be looking for to ensure they get EXACTLY what you asked them to get.

On a sidenote, it's a small deal really but hopefully AC won't have any ridiculous Bat quotes. I remember at some point in the game, Batman said "I eat punks like these for breakfast"/ That's not something he'd say. Also, it'd be nice if he did some work at Bruce Wayne or go undercover like he did in the Batman TAS episodes: The Forgotten and Shadow Of The Bat. Those should be side quests. On an update: there are certain points of the game where you HAVE to play as Catwoman. I just hope once u beat the game, you'll be able to play the entire game as other characters: Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and the villains (I hope the actor from the Batman TAS series voices Freeze).

Not doing another rip, after doing so much with Arkham, nobody bothered about this thread... well I'll try making a YouTube promo but if that doesn't work then I'm done with gamerips.

You're not the only one whose done a lot of work ripping, organizing, and uploading a game soundtrack for only "mild" appreciation. I mean, look at the rippers (like OJ) who fulfill rip requests that one or two people are asking for. They don't get a lot of praise for the sheer amount of work they do fulfilling isolated requests. Additionally, you did the music for your own benefit too, didn't you? You set out to do this because you wanted a definitive Arkham Asylum soundtrack. You don't need to be lavished with praise in order for your efforts to have been worthwhile. Now you have that definitive Arkham Asylum soundtrack that you wanted.

Often, the ripper is a lonely one. Too few appreciate just how damn hard it is to get this things out at all. Game developers use whatever codecs make their jobs easier, but more times than not it makes ripping the music files a living hell. Most people think it is a matter of just opening a program and pressing a button. It's a hell a lot more than that, and for some of us that is just the beginning. I want my game rips organized like a soundtrack, with a chronological assortment of tracks with actual names.

Look at my threads for my Witcher games. I poured hours of work into those, and I barely got any praise for them. But last I checked hundreds of people downloaded them. I don't really mind, though. I got my soundtracks, and I am just happy to spread it around.

People are lazy, but just be satisfied that you did one heck of a job. No better feeling than that my friend. So keep on ripping. If it brings you joy, do it.

Honestly, OJ loops his stuff, just like what Abaddon did for the first 212 track rip, and Abaddon's did me no good because he combined the whole thing in whatever he felt sounded good, and not the actual in-game material.

@OJ: "Phenom if i am correct his rip was merely an arrangement based off of my rip. So don't go comparing stuff you don't even know about

software u used"

LOL. You don't even know what you're saying! You talk as if I said your rip was bad and I never did. You should have asked me why I was comparing his rip to yours first before saying that. And I would have said in plain English that his rip was better than yours because of the arrangement. Did I say your rip was bad? No I didn't. So what's your problem? I have every right to compare if I desire to do so. It's not like I'm being mean to you. I don't have to like your rips all the time.

"Hmm your in college so that makes you.........The vending machine stockboy."

It's because of those kinds of comments I have a conflict with you. That's you verbally attacking me.....something I did NOT do to your Arkham rip. It's also NOT something I can remember ever doing to you. I hope you get attacked verbally someday. I hope they give you a real good dose of your own medicine so maybe you'll smarten up! The difference between you and me is I don't verbally attack people....especially on a computer because I'm far better than that. I can't say the same for you. Can I?

"So don't go comparing stuff you don't even know about software u used"

I'm not understanding what you were trying to say. I never used any software. I think your anger took over when you typed that. And because you didn't specify, I'm left to guess that you are referring to software used for ripping. If I'm right, then you are way off as I never used any software for ripping. Get your facts straight!!! If I ever did, I would have made & posted my own soundtracks. And before you call me a leech for not ripping myself which is something you do quite often, you should know that not every computer can handle it and it is possible that mine cannot.....at least not to the quality I desire. And if I can't rip to the quality I desire, what is the point in spending all that time (which I don't even have because of school and work) & making the effort?

@OJ: Post #48 is YOUR post. Not mine. And post #48 says the following from you:

Phenom if i am correct his rip was merely an arrangement based off of my rip. So don't go comparing stuff you don't even know about

software u used

Hmm your in college so that makes you.........The vending machine stockboy.

"Should of seen his posts before lol, way worst then mines."

That's your opinion OJ & you are entitled to it. But voicing opinions & belittling someone which you constantly do to me are 2 different things. My posts may be worse. But that gives you no reason to verbally attack me. So what if I type u instead of you? Many people do it. You see them in text messages, emails, on forums/message boards. They do that to make their messages shorter. I type u instead of you on my cell phone all the time because since getting a new phone, it's hard for me to get used to the keyboard as it's quite different from the one on my old phone. The other reason I type like that is because people complained that I write a lot (something people who love to write do) & it gets so long, they hate reading it. Can you blame me for wanting to shorten my messages in every way possible? All I'm asking is for you to stop calling me a leech, a troll, a n00b and stop verbally attacking/criticizing/belittling me. I ask you, am I really asking for much? Because I think my request is fair.....especially considering I wasn't born in the U.S. which I told you before.

And don't give some ridiculous answer like "Well if you don't give me a reason to, I won't" because I never gave you a reason!

KGN-004 corrected you. Instead of saying "You're right KGN." and realizing you do worse to me, your reply was "Should of seen his posts before lol, way worst then mines."

That says a lot about you. That pretty much says you can't handle being corrected by someone.

@OJ: Cause I don't want to! I don't have to quote anyone. This site doesn't have a "Quote others" policy. You're so quick to pick a fight with me. Why? What have I ever done to you?

@Firebolt: I'd love to but this guy is just so quick to fight. And I'm not gonna just back down & let him walk all over me. I cannot stand for that. It's just so rude! Have u seen his posts.....verbally attacking, name calling, etc? Then look at my posts where verbal attacks and name calling are nonexistent. I pretty much gave a sign that I never wanted to start a fight and that I wanna end it when I asked him for a fair request - no more verbal attacks/name calling. He refuses to stop. Therefore, I must continue to respond to him. Another reason why I must continue to respond to him is it seems like none of the moderators are doing anything seeing as how he continues to attack me. And I PMed Sarah twice regarding him too. Until he stops, I cannot be expected to end the feud. He started it. He's gotta end it. I think my request to him is valid, reasonable and fair because I'm not asking much at all. It should be easy to stop verbally attacking and name calling a fellow FFS member.....especially for a guy who posts gamerips regularly or constantly. And while I'm at it, I never attacked/criticized him or his rips. They're great quality. Like him or not, I won't/can't deny that. And no, I'm not just saying that to kiss up to him or so he could end this feud. I've downloaded his rips before (haven't lately ever since this feud because I feel it is wrong to take something from someone you have problems with or has problems with you....especially when it's free) so I'm talking from experience.

Meh... it seems to me that you both can put to good use the ignore function (http://forums.ffshrine.org/profile.php?do=ignorelist).

I think Sarah is busy lately, but when she does visit she only monitors the General Discussion area of the forum.
In any case here's my 2 cents: (OJ)OranceC is a well respected member of FFshrine and has contributed a great deal to the game-ripping community as a whole... BUT in this case he clearly chose a wrong target for verbal attacks and is very unreasonable, since nearly all of his post are grammatically incorrect to begin with. As well as the "leeching" thing is also irrelevant, and if you really want to talk crap to leechers, then why not just go to Game Music Request section of the forum and reply with "Go F* yourself" to all of them?

phenomangel

@Leon: Agreed. But I doubt that will get him to stop which is what he's gotta do. I will try my hardest to ignore him. But if he presses me, I do not know how long I can resist replying. I have a lot of tolerance & patience. But once it runs out, it's very difficult to have anymore.....especially for someone like OJ. I thank you for the suggestion Leon. I did PM Jessie just a second ago so let's see what happens from there.

"(OJ)OranceC is a well respected member of FFshrine and has contributed a great deal to the game-ripping community as a whole... @MiLO: I don't endorse talking crap to anyone because honestly, what does it do & what do you gain from it? What has he gained from talking to me the way he does besides a pointless feud? And it's me who clearly wishes to end it as I requested him to stop. That's all he has to do for the feud to end. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's not asking much because it's so easy to do for a guy who's constantly posting rips & is well respected for it as you stated. I choose not to quote people that way. If you don't like it, too bad. Deal with it or don't bother with me. Simple as that. Don't tell me to learn something when it's you who needs to learn to stop disrespecting others and picking fights. Once you learn that, then you talk to me about quotes. I don't take anything or listen to anyone who disrespects me which you do quite well.

Starting now, I will be ignoring you which I will continue to do until you push me too far which hopefully I will have enough restraint to prevent you from doing. SO if I was you, I'd just stop because it's all so pointless. How and why you don't see that is beyond me. All I can say is I really hope you get disrespected the same way you constantly disrespect me! And I hope I'm there to witness it too!

As great as Arkham Asylum was in terms of a great OST & being a true Batman game, I hope Arkham City tops it. Can't comment on the music till I play the game, but in terms of the game, it looks like it's topping Asylum. I've seen various Youtube videos & ign.com reports on City. Get this:
1. Robin IS in the game.....don't know if it's the actual game but im guessing it's just on Challenge Maps like The Joker was in Asylum. Seriously, not to start a war here but Robin should be a 360 exclusive since only PS3 got Joker for Asylum. It's a nice way of paying us 360 owners back for buying their game(s). If & when Joker is available to the 360, then Robin could be on PS3. Till then, Robin should be a 360 exclusive in my opinion. As a 360 owner, I was upset I beat Asylum for nothing. I was let down.
2. You get to play as Catwoman in certain parts of the game.
3. Those working on the game said City is gonna be a lot longer than Asylum.

So I wanted to know what rep points are & its benefits are so that I can ask for them if I feel the benefits are worth it.

Also, how many points can you get from someone? Like, can I give Firebolt 10 points or more?

And how many times can I give him points? I ask this because I downloaded Arkham & burned it to cd. But now, my cd drive is completely gone so I have to download it again. So the least I can do is give him more points since no one else seems to be doing so unfortunately. I'll never understand why people are too unappreciative to give pints or at the very least say thank you.

What does rep points do exactly? And what are its benefits, if any? I ask because of this that I just posted (sorry it's a lot to read): http://forums.ffshrine.org/f7/not-sure-belongs-here-but-92214/#post1728381

I'll never understand why people are too unappreciative to give pints or at the very least say thank you.

thank you to NCFirebolt21 for the rip

& thank you to you for the mp3 version. :)

this is one of my favorite video games... can not wait until Arkham City. :)

Even I can't wait for City!
Reputation points need to be given to different people (probably 10) before coming back to the 1st... so if you decide to give me rep, then you won't be able to unless you give another 9 guys... and you can only give out 5 sets of rep points in 24 hours. Happened to me once, I know.

It was so complete that I have never heard any of the two tracks, "Just What the Doctors Ordered" and "Library Guard Rescue." Even from the other rips or playing the game. It must be in the PC version or something.

Where do i give you rep points?

@Rex: Oh lol. I was on the other Arkham thread, saw you & asked that you come here. But you're already here haha.

@Firebolt: In other words, i haven't given you any yet. I honestly thought I did. I'm gonna try again if I remember how. I'm new to rep points. What are the benefits (if any)?

@Jedi: I asked that same question here. If you look around this thread, you'll find the answer.

Doctor's Orders plays at Medical... when you have to save Dr. Chen/Young and Kellerman individually...
Library Guard Rescue plays when you have to drop the chandelier to break the glass floor to save the guards.

Thanks for the share. Curious what this score is like, is it orchestral and thematic? or is it just lots of synth and ambient sound design?

Thanks for the share. Curious what this score is like, is it orchestral and thematic? or is it just lots of synth and ambient sound design?

Asylum has a very orchestral score, kinda like the Zimmer/Newton Howard style from the Nolan trilogy, and some elements of Elfman's music with the choirs... no hard rock or anything with this score... City may follow the Asylum routine. I think. I can tell you the download's worth it 'cause I went through the trouble of making it when nobody else did!

Hey NCFirebolt21, thanks for the response. Although I must say, the Zimmer music for Nolan's Batman trilogy is NOT what I would call "very orchestral". But i guess comparing it to that does give a bit of a reference point. I guess I've just heard too many game scores recently where it's just endless synth ambience or action tracks that all sounds exactly the same after a few minutes. So was curious whether it actually had more of a thematic presence or not. But either way, I appreciate your work and I'll check it out. After all, I can always choose to not like it, haha.

That is most likely in Part 5, since there are a 116 tracks, it goes from 01-10, 100-116, then 11 onwards... maybe it's just the renaming after download that's the problem... I don't know... so far, no major problems reported...

The Vale's one is extremely hard, I can't find the outro layer to that and with the cutscenes, I can't extract the music from some of them (like one of the first cutscenes where Elika and Prince meet Elika's father before the Prince/King duel).

I"m still working on that OJ, not abandoned it, but as I've started working so now, I'm stuck between uni and work. And been focusing on POP2008 actually, since no one is going to ever do that. Machionic and codyap08 have already condensed scoreman's rip down to 3. By the way OJ, can you send me the drum layer for Wonder City? It wasn't there in the actual files... you only uploaded the "complete mix"... I was going to make an alternate version starting with the solo drums...

So right now, back and forth on POP2008 and Arkham City. Can't say when I'll finish, but when I finish them, it'll be up on the Shrine in FLAC!

Thanks a lot for this share NCFirebolt21, I had mostly forgotten about just how good this soundtrack was until I gave this a spin (was listening to Arkham City then thought why not? Well worth it!). I'm facing an issue downloading the fourth part, something about mediafire restricting the number of downloads for split compressed parts (weird restrictions), can't DL that one, any chance of having an alternate host for that part as well? All the other parts are working fine, thanks again for the share!

Sorry to have disturbed about this at this time. Mediafire seems to have restricted sharing only and the file should theoretically still be available to the owner, they said they notified your account on steps to unrestrict it, I think it would be best to mirror the set if possible, this is really good stuff. I'd love to help uploading but my upload speeds are very low (30 kbps if I'm lucky) even though download speeds are fairly good, typical ADSL setup, still will try, can't let this disappear! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! :)

Glad you enjoy the score as much as I do. still hoping Watertower release this soundtrack. One day.

Hope to see a complete OST with everything in it. Not some half baked job where half the music is missing. Official releases often have things missing till years later, an expanded edition gets out with material that was on the original as well an previously unreleased stuff. The expanded editions most often happen for films. TV shows....maybe, but definitely not as often. Games.....don't know of anytime an original album or expanded edition had literally all the music from in it. Killer Instinct was comprised of remixes. Some of which I like. But I was still hoping for Arcade game version tracks instead.

I know there's a KI Remastered album where Arcade versions are there. But just saying. The MK games, especially MK 1-3, Deception and Armageddon haven't got a release at all. Hope to see them one day. But they're pretty old so I don't think it's a high priority.

There shouldn't be duplicates; most songs when fully mixed use the same layers. The only difference is how they all mix together. The combat themes like in challenge usually begin with drums, and predator themes start with the ambient brass/string sections.

No problems! The audio quality isn't all that great thanks to it being the horrible Unreal engine, but yeah. Enjoy Mr Gold!

^The in-game music was from the Unreal Engine 3, so all music was only extracted in ~128kbps MP3. FLAC would be a waste of space.

Thanks for keeping the original link up after all these years! Would have preferred FLAC just to ensure no quality loss (yes I know it's more space, but at least you wouldn't lose any MORE quality) but that's a tiny nitpick to such a massive effort.

One of these days I'll have to finish my Arkham Knight score...

^No problems :)

I was hoping to see a rip for Return To Arkham so I could update Arkham Asylum but nobody did it :/ hopefully someone does it soon enough! :)

Because they're console exclusive, we can't rip anything from the next gen consoles until someone cracks them. :(

I didn't even know the next-gen consoles weren't cracked yet, I could've sworn people have tried to rip models from them...
